Can be seen through the clouds. It presents as a blinking light as it goes behind clouds. But It's a sight to see if you haven't already!

I believe you can also get tickets to view a launch from the KSC Visitor's Center. I lucked into press passes for the Apollo 17 launch (only night launch of a Saturn V), Skylab (last Saturn V launch) and the first Skylab Crew (Saturn IB on a milk stool). I also scored a car pass for a shuttle launch. Impressive doesn't begin to cover it! If you get a chance, go for it.
