We are discussing the shindig at Fusion over at the Prospero Board under the Fusion 2004 thread, but am happy to fill in on this one, if people think it appropriate.

But I agree we should all work tgt. There are a few people out there who have experience organising get togethers and have knowledge of hotels etc. I'm good for the UK and Ireland, and I know some people in Germany and Holland.
I think a Euro-Shindig would be fantastic.
But then again, am always looking for a good excuse for a party

Please let us know what's going on with the others you mentioned - at the moment I suspect there are about 20-odd people interested or semi-interested, and I'm assuming we'd need approx double that to make it worthwhile...?

Sounds like Henley - even down to the 22 second appraisal!
Need more time to enjoy the pubs, of course! 
I'm sure you'll have something to do at the end of it - maybe not something financially rewarding, but still....

Well, I guess there's a hotel at Heathrow, or a short-ish drive to somewhere more interesting (I recommend Henley
). Still would be worthwhile with only 20 people, I reckon, but I'm sure there are more out there....

A female Firefly fan from Finland here. (check out all the f's, lol)
I'm just rummaging through older threads since I'm kinda new so bear with me.
They started showing Firefly here in March and use Fox order so it took me 4 episodes to get really intrigued. Currently we have Serenity and the US-unaired trio left to watch.
I consider myself very lucky to be built in a way that I can see and appreciate all this shininess. And I'm feeling beyond giddy when thinking about the upcoming movie.

Are all the Brit-coats here London-centric? 'Cause I'm up in Manchester, which is far more central if people where to come from all over Britain. And still has a perfectly servicable international airport. And is much cheaper.

I live in Luton now, originally from Yorkshire, and we have an airport too, about 20 minutes from my house as a matter of fact, theres even a song about it as most brits over a certain age mention when I tell them where im from.

I wish Heathrow was in the middle of some wasteland. Sadly not.
I know there is discussion about which airport would be the most central or convenient... and I don't mean to plug Heathrow (although personally very convenient), just wanted to say that there are several other attractions nearby: Windsor, WIndsor Castle, Windsor Great Park, Legoland, Thorpe Park.... in case people wanted to make a weekend of it.
I 'spect the same can be said of Luton (Whipsnade springs to mind) and Manchester.
But I've written this now so I will post it.
