Currently laid off at the moment but I just heard word on Friday that I am being called back to my old position. The hospital that I work/worked/working for laid me off because of health reasons. (Yes, I know that is illegal but they [or should I say "she" because it was actually the director of my department] found a loophole) I have been laid off for four months. But, I am happy to say that the "higher-ups" forced her to take me back because the department has gone to Hell in a handbasket since I left. (Don't you just love Karma?!?!)

Anyways, my official title is Control Clerk in the hospital's Professional Billing department. I know, I HATE that title! Everyone always asks me, "Are you a control freak?" I always like to reply with Joss' line, "No, I am a control enthusiast."

To explain what a Control Clerk is....it's basically a jack-of-all-trades. I maintain our billing software database and am the unofficial computer guru of our department.

*snerk* Yup, Train Job. Is it just me, or is that the reaction of every Browncoat who finds out what I do for a living?

Screenwriting. Well, scriptwriting technically, since I'm not averse to video games, comics, or staged plays, but It's TV that I'm aiming for. I want Joss' job.

Don't know about anyone else, but I sure wouldn't argue with getting you into a position where you could work on putting Serenity back in the air.

Director of rural community mental health center - psychotherapist - for money.

Yoga teacher - for peace of mind.

I was wondering about this topic, too, but figured I could check the threads. Thanks for putting this one out there.

I'm a therapist in a children's mental health program in West Virginia -- the state with the highest rate of child maltreatment deaths in the U.S. Author proceeds from the sale of my first science fiction novel are donated to prevent child abuse. I can't afford to advertise, but I have had some success through pro bono contributions, including two book reviews. Please see the following links. So, I guess I'm a writer too.

Most recent mention

www.specficworld.com/books/index.html -- a site that gave me free advertising for a year

www.baryon-online.com/baryon103/rarho.html -- 1st professional review, by a famous science fiction reviewer

http://www.missourireview.com/tmr-blog/?p=310 -- most recent review by the editor of a major book review firm

There have been other contributors that were not mentioned above so as to eliminate redundancy of content.
