Bond, James Bond agent 007

Well I went to see it, just got back. Not gonna give it away. But its gritty, very different, true Bond fan may not like it. You know your Bond movies you'll see alot of scenes from his travels. This has alot of twists come sideways very very different. To be license to kill your gonna need an agent who is merciless, none trusting to the smallest details, and a man pig. I think spectre just step a notch up in evil. Chasing electronic cash flow is going to be upheel task. But James Bond is there. I'll give our boy another shot I believe he is do for some revenge. Don't expect inspector gadget. Not gonna happen.

I frikin' LOVED the new Bond film!! I am a fan of Bond as I came of age in the blindingly-handsome Pierce Brosnan era, but Daniel Craig brings a "realness" to it that is new, refreshing, and fun. All I will say is that he reminded me of Mal in that he, of course, was the hero, but he got beat the heck up- in the most entertaining ways. People who aren't usually fans of Bond should really check this one out- especially my fellow ladies. ;) I loved that they took the time to develop a relationship- at least as much as a Bond flick can- and it seemed as though they scaled down the insanely high volume of gratuitous nearly-nude women. All around very cool. A+ from me. ;)

Yeah.. I thought it was really good fun too! A tiny bit too long (american movies OFTEN make this mistake) but really well done and Daniel Craig ROCKS!
He is a very good actor (see Layer Cake) and he makes this part his own. Some of the usual "Bond" lines.. laughing.. very gritty and relies on reality rather than those fantastic gadgety things..
And Mr. Bond HAS been keeping himself in shape.. very much so! Ladies, don't miss this...

I grew up with the Roger Moore version of Bond and thought he was "the man" until I watched the Connery movies. Dalton was a lot better than most gave him credit for, and Brosnan was like a sequel to Moore. And Lazenby was, well, Lazenby.
All that being said, Craig immediately jumped to #2 on my list of favorite Bonds, only because I couldn't give a guy the top spot after one movie. Casino Royale is, probably, my favorite Bond movie now, and as Cap'n Tightpants himself notes...

Have to agree here...the new bond totally rocks, and if you've read the books is a true Bond. It was amazing. I'll give nothing away except as a "pre-quel" it explains a lot and it was so fantastic!!!!

All I'll say about it is this: I was all for Pierce Brosnan as Bond because he was always meant to be Bond.
After seeing Casino Royale over the weekend, I am in the position of asking myself, "I'm sorry, Pierce... who?"

I saw it over the weekend and I really liked it a lot. I never really cared much for the cheese factor in some of the previous movies, and it was nice to see most of it done away with in this one. The story was simple yet interesting at the same time, I always hated the over the top story lines of some of the past ones.
They did a good job with this one.

I loved Casino Royale, but then I was always prepared to give Daniel Craig a chance. My friend only had one complaint.
She kept missing parts of the film cos she was too busy staring into his big blue eyes!

Yes, those eyes definitely make up for his unfortunate ears. Not as bad as some - worse in the trailers, actually.
And the rest of him takes care of whatever distraction his eyes don't provide.

Wow this is the opposite of me and my friend's reaction. We were laughing histarically through most of the film because it was so outrageous. I won't give anything away either, but just about none of the movie seemed possible. What happened to the opening theme song too? It used to always be some cool music video thing. This one had cheesy original virtua fighter graphics.
All the females were just laughing anytime they focused on bond too much because of how unattractive they found him.
The bond girls didn't do much for me either. Except for when the one didn't have her caked on makeup. She looked hot at that point.
Overall, I can say the action scenes were neat if you completely turn your brain off. The rest of the movie almost seemed like satire.
