Bond has always been a bit of a romp through unreality.
The initial chase scene is reasonably possible. I've heard of a group of atheletes in Paris who make a point of doing spiderman like feats of skill through the city.
I found the use of vector and flash style graphics in the introduction intriguing, but then that's part of my field of study.
Not a fan of Daniel's lip line either, frankly. He looks better in the movie than he does in pictures. He has an odd sort of collection of rugged features that seem to go well together.
And NOW I remember why I like it here - the plethora of perspectives.

Well I gotta say that I am very impressed and love this movie. Ranking as one of the best Bond movies.
It is a little long, but the nice touches they put in make up for it.
I started watching in the middle of Moore's era but have always found Connery to get the right mix of jokes, gadgets and guts to get the job done.
This Bond is definitely different, but that is a good thing, you couldn't go on making the films the same way. Some people already hate the movies just because they have the Bond name attached.
Things needed to change and they have, all for the better.
I will look forward to (hopefully) many more with Craig (he is a damn fine actor).

And I thought Casino Royale - like our Capt'n - was definitely "royawesome"...though the car crash was a bit much for a fan of Aston Martins to take
On the opening credits? Well, I thought they were quite nicely retro. Reminded me of some of the credits one can see in movies of the 1950s and 1960s. Chris Cornell was good too, though it takes till the end of the song to really get that "power" vibe artists like Dame Shirley Bassey and Sir Thomas Jones brought to the Connery era of film themes
Oh...and Craig-as-Bond? Yeah...he's not a pretty boy, but that's what Fleming wanted: someone who's completely boring as
that spectacular things happen to. Could definitely see the literary aura permeating Daniel Craig's performance at times

I stopped breathing during the car crash. But then I do that every time one shows up on screen. Divinci Code, The Forgotten, The Island - all have crash sequences in them that have nearly sent me over my chair in the theater. I can't watch the new VW ads on TV either.
I didn't go over my chair with this one, but my niece reached over and started patting me on the arm and telling me, "It's okay."
That's when I realized I had stopped breathing.

I take it Ferris Bueller hurts too? Yeah, I think the only thing that had us guys in the theater wince more than the car being wrecked was the...torture scene. Ugghhh.
I liked it a lot. I didn't have a problem with the "prequel, but modern" thing, as Bond is timeless. I really liked Eva Green (wow...just wow). I think that Craig did a great job and I'm sure it's not easy to jump into a role that everyone has an opinion about, so that makes his performance even more commendable.

Well...not so much "Ferris Bueller." I flinch but: a) I've seen the movie enough that the moment in question is less painful than it once was; and b) the "Ferrari" was only a kit car, so it's like destroying an offfical copy of something, rather than an orignal. But yeah...I was almost curled up foetally with the torture scene! Gotta admit, the knotted rope actually seemed worse than Fleming's orignal idea of an electric carpet beater

Oh hell yeah...Eva Green is definitely one sexy, sexy, sexy (thanks Alan T!) lady! Plus she made the character of Vesper a lot more easier to swallow as someone who could get Bond to actually hang up his gun so quickly after getting Double O status than how the book mader her out to be. Plus the eventual end? Lot more dramatic and painful than literary Vesper's passing. And yeah...Craig definitely laid a firm smackdown on the naysayers about his ability to sell the role. Bond's back to being a deadly mofo whom you just don't
