Ok, jumping on another pic thread, because yesterday I was a boy film-companion:

Darci: She's half Mainecoon (wildcat) and we think at least part Persian, so as you can guess, she is extremely moody/bitchy. We have actually had the cops called on us once before for her getting agitated (she howls loudly, she has a mighty roar).

Both of them were found within a block of our house, at the same intersection. The little one (yorkie) is Daffodil, and the other is PJ.
My son thinks he is a dog, and does everything he can to mimic PJ.

Just wanted to share this with people that I know will understand....I had to put Toby down this past Monday. It was very sudden and it was the first time that I have ever had to put a pet to sleep. Needless to say, I am heartbroken.

Ladysings, I'm so sorry to hear about Toby. I've had to put several pets down, and while it was necessary, it's always heartbreaking.
This is Oliver on the left and Misty on the right. Last year Oliver went from 23 lbs to 14 lbs, he had lymphoma. He was 17. Misty is still around at 17.

Thank you so much for your empathy. Of course, a lot of people said to me, "Well, he was quite old at 10 yrs. He had a long life." (Of course, these were people who have never had cats.) I kept trying to tell them that there are a lot of cats that live to be 20 yrs. old. And as I said before, this was very sudden. I had taken him to the vet about a week and a half ago for an antibiotic shot (he was sneezing and coughing) and he was completely better after that until late last week. All of a sudden he wasn't eating or drinking and was hiding all the time. By the time I took him back to the vet on Monday, he could barely walk. The vet said he could do testing to determine what happened but that wouldn't guarantee that they could save him. OMG, when I think about it now, all I can remember saying to him before I left the vet's office was, "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry." It feels like you're giving the order to kill a member of your family. Thank goodness I still have his brother to keep me company and help me through this.

....yes, I know they don't look like brothers but they were brothers in every sense of the word! lol
....and btw, your babies are beautiful as well (although I can only see them from behind! lol)

Here's the grand dame face to face, although being black she's still hard to take a picture of...
and her newer brothers, The Evil One and Zeke.
When we took Oliver it was one big cryfest. Oliver, who normally pitched a fit when taken to the vet, was silent. A sure sign it was time. It takes time, and his brother will help you get through this. Again, I feel for you.

JQ, sorry about Lucius. It's especially hard when they go young.
Thank you for the much needed laugh of puppy in kitty bed and naked cartwheels, though.
Maximus evilus and the corner of the chair he has shredded.
