I was always convinced that there was always one member of the family at every gathering elected purley to annoy the cook. Thats their mission for the day, one they usually fulfill with glee.
In our family that was usually my grandad, now its my brother or my uncle - i'm wondering if its not some kind of sacred pact passed down through the males.
in our house we always had the dogs as well - they had their own secret pact - the idea was to lie in the door ways leading from the kitchen to the dining room (in our old house there were conveniently two - one for each dog, now, theres only one, so the three of them take it in turns) in the hope that one at least would trip the unwary person carrying the food through.
then at meal time a strict rotation would be adhered to ensuring that each person at the table would be given ample opportunity to pass town tidbits.
My mum also used to buy dry roasted peanuts every year for me until she realised i was only sucking the flavouring off then passing the nuts down to the dog.
Man was the dog dissapointed at that.
Isn't sanity really a one trick pony, anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking! But when you're good and crazy...ooh hoo hoo hoo... the skys the limit!

I have a luv/hate relationship to the peanut family. I luvs to eat 'em, but my body has this allergic reaction to 'em that causes... acne. Oh well. Relative to the many human miseries that's a lame one, so I can deal.
Seeing that you're posting, Seryn, suggests that you're feeling better. And yay! for that.
Hermes, eh? Hmmmm. I haven't donned a toga in a party -- or any other -- environment in, oh, a quarter century. All of a sudden I'm really feeling my age.
Got me a camera, though. 
As for 'puter games, I did phase through an addiction to Civilization, though I never got past Civ 2. Kinda my roundabout way of saying that I'd be intrigued to beta S's game, but fear I lack the skills to provide decent feedback. Still, I wonder if there wouldn't be an appropriate Civ-ish type game that works in the Serenifly 'verse... or would that be too huge an undertaking, what with the many colonised planets and moons?

aw thank you, I went to the doctors - i got a different doctor this time, yey! and barring one extremely embarasing trip to the clinic next thursday, it should be all done and dusted.

Hehe. So is done and dusted a common phrase there? It's the name of the company that has put together Marillion's more recent DVDs. I think they made the Guinness book of records at the Marillion Weekend a couple of years back. Marillion did their Friday night Concert which was digitally recorded and being processed as the show continued.. The DVD was available that Sunday as people left the Weekend. I have it, and it's very well done. Doesn't seem cheap or rushed at all.

yup, common phrase, where i am anyway.
you know thats really neat - they should get them to do dvd of the panels n stuff (though i was looking at some clips of the panels on you tube today, abart from the overall bad quality, they wern't quite as funny as i remembered. I mean funny (Alan reading Wash's eulogy was a scream i'm sure, but you couldn't hear a word) but theres definitly something to be said for the effect sitting in a room with nigh on two thousand vaguely hysterical people has on you.
can't wait for next year!

Traditionally you would top it with whipped cream if you topped it at all. The pie itself has all the flavor bases covered though so that would be optional. And believe it or not I did respond to this on wednesday except the server flaked and then I had to leave my net connection behind to travel dad's way. So hope everybody's tryptophan day was as pleasant as mine and that only minor episodes of indigestion manifested themselves.

Yes I enjoy the panels and I enjoy being rather close, which is why I do lots of waiting. I'm glad everyone else enjoyed that too. It's nice to have a large group up close. A panel DVD, if done professionally, would be nice, but to include all the panels, it wouldn't be available at the end of the weekend. Would be a nice thing to have though.
Looking forward to next year too, Time to make the hotel reservations and order the membership. So, just so I'll know.. are the arrangements going to be the same? Should I assume Ath, LMD, and Citizen are returning and up for sharing the room?

LMD, the tryptophan is in the turkey, makes you sleepy. I don't think it's in the ham. But I guess one could eat enough ham to get sleepy anyway. I'm not too big on ham. I'm mostly focused on fowl right now.
