Hayden Panettiere has a pretty impressive resume for television. I remember her as the daughter in Joe Somebody, Raising Helen, and Racing Stripes. In most cases her performances were memorable even when her role wasn’t. I was surprised to see her on this show and I’m wondering whether she’ll hang around after the saving the world event.

I’m not sure whether Mr. Bennett is a good guy or bad, but either way I’m so happy he turned out to be a loving father. Nothing would have disappointed me more then for him to have been portrayed as so unsympathetic that he cared nothing for his own daughter. However he turns out now, the fact that he appears to love his daughter makes him orders of magnitude more believable.

Nothing is more unpredictable than the mob, nothing more obscure than public opinion, nothing more deceptive than the whole political system.

Okay, last night's episode was one of the best so far. Here some talking points:

- Hiro went back six months into the past? According to the waitress that Hiro's buddy talked to he apparently was around for months before disappearing just a few weeks before she was killed. If he was in the past and around for months, why is the waitress still dead? Where is Hiro? He was supposed to be at the Homecoming according to Isaac's painting. Did he alter the timeline when he went back to save the waitress? Did that action invalidate Isaac's vision of the future.

- Peter absorbed Claire's healing ability. It saved his life, further proving his ability is to mimic the powers of others. Wonder why he did not have the ability to use Sylar's powers.

- Peter gets arrested. Boy is this going to be a mess. He is covered in blood, none of which is Jackie's, but she is dead and the small town will be looking to pin the murder on someone. Will Claire & her dad come forward to clear him? Will Nathan come to help him? How will it affect Nathan's chance at office?

- What will the fallout be between Nathan and Pete for Nathan's attempt to destroy the painting? I think Pete will forgive him & understand why he did it, but it may serve to further widen the already existing gap between the brothers.

- Did Jessica really shoot DL? Guess we have to wait until next week for that.

- Eden sure put Sylar down didn't she? I figured Sylar was going to break free of her power of suggestion and kill her, but she showed no fear and stopped him. Wonder what the Haitian and Claire's dad have in store for him. Obviously we will get some backstory on him next week.

I havn't seen last night episode yet (hasn't been posted on the net yet) but so far i'm wicked impressed. It's my second favorite show this season, right behind Galatica.

I'll have some good thoughts on teh next episode tomorrow probably

It's noteworthy that the currently-dead waitress didn't seem to know Hiro when she first met him in the "modern" timeframe. The photo on the wall didn't show Hiro at that point either, which is proof that he's actually altering past events, rather than just participating in them. And unlike that older waitress, Ando's memories didn't adjust because, after all, he wasn't in Texas six months ago; his personal timeline wouldn't be altered.

And Hiro and Ando still have time to show up at the school before the decorations are taken down. Maybe next week--or, considering the six-month time warp, the week after that...

Maybe he did duplicate Sylar's powers, but, not knowing exactly what they were, didn't manage to activate them in time. Claire's power being automatic in nature, he didn't have to work at it.

And, has anyone else noticed that Sylar walked away from the same fall that should have killed Peter, with no signs of injury at all? Is he a fast healer too, or did he use his TK/levitation ability to cushion the fall?

But the big question is--how does Claire's continued survival relate to the potential destruction of New York? Homecoming is traditionally held in late October--November 8th is going to be coming up real fast...
