Distribution stuff bogged down the works. Look for a few more official type snippets at the usual sources... "

"There is still more legal stuff to get through, but I trust that Joss will deliver us the Big Damn Movie and makes us proud. : )

) This is GREAT news! We've gotten small little good news messages now and then, but this pulls all of the recent good stuff together for me. Joss wrote a new script as a "potential springboard to a series return?" Its of course something I've dreamed of, but didn't think was too plausible. To have Joss allowing for it....well it makes me happier than I can say.

wow best thread I've every had my first post on. hopefully the switch from epilogue to kickstart means less characters get killed off. I like characters

Yeeeeessssss!!!!!! This is the best news I´ve had all year. (Ok, so it´s only Febuary, but it´s pretty damn good none the less.)
One would like to think that the powers that be have finally realised their mistake and started listening to the fans... but you never know. I´m keeping my fingers crossed in any case. Only downside is that it makes it that much harder to type.

Ummm... if I am reading the same thing you are, it was due to outside forces. The studio wanted a "potential springboard" for a continuing series, rather than an epilog to the one that got canceled.
Now if that is the outside force, then I suspect you'd be more than happy with such a change.
