I wonder if this means the project is morphing into a direct-to-dvd project or tv movie...
Certainly unprecedented for a project to go from TV to motion picture to TV with the original players in place.
But Joss has a way of messing with convention then doesn't he?

Okay. . .I'm a moron. . .
I'm sitting here asking questions about a premiere party and I forget my own history.
I'm good friends with a guy who OWNS a theatre. It's an old-style 'movie house' type theatre, with traditional architecture, but all the neccessary trappings for new movies, like Dolby Digital Surround Sound, or whatever the newest, greatest thing is.
He usually only shows Independant feature films, stuff like that. . .stuff that doesn't usually make it to the multiplexes. . .HOWEVER. . .
I'm fairly certain he could be convinced to make the investment into asking for a first-run copy of "Firefly".
The theatre is in Raleigh, NC. . .the capital city. It's near Downtown, near hotels, resturants and a large mall. I wonder what sort of response would be recieved from Browncoats wanting to host a massive premiere night gala there?

Year of the Firefly you say. That is catchy but what about the Decade of the Firefly? That way there are many more years of Firefly to come.

Let me interrupt your celebrating with a word of restraint. Nothing is certain until official word comes down. I can't specifically say who the source of this info was, but it's not directly from anyone at ME. I would peg this about an 8 (out of 10) on the rumor accuracy scale.
