That's the way that I got hooked. When one of my friends said that a bunch of people were watching this show called "Firefly" in the main lounge of my dorm, I told her wasn't really interested. Then she proceeded to talk me into/drag me down to watch it. I wound up seeing almost the entire series that day. I then went out and bought my own copy of the DVDs.
And made d@mn sure that I saw the BDM the night it came out.
So yes, I highly recommend the ambush tactic. It worked on me and I'm sure it'll work on other potential Browncoats.

Got hooked when my brother said he had found this cool movie with a great bad guy in it. Of course it was Serenity. That was 6 months and innumerable viewings ago. I hesitated to buy because I didn't want it to ruin the 'atmosphere' of the movie...Wadda mistake!!
Finally, bought the series a month ago. I have been a fan ever since and still just can't figure out why they canceled the series. Especially, considering the crap that is on. Stoopid decision by stoopid, short sighted fools, lacking in imagination. It had everything... Hot women, macho dudes, great storylines, great (quotable) dialog. All the characters had potential.
Whatever...
