Get Bill Gates to finance FF season 2. . . ?

Had this crazy thought a few days back... Is Bill Gates a "Firefly" fan by chance? Y'know that "6-degrees of separation" thing, right? SOMEBODY has to know somebody who knows somebody who knows Bill Gates. Cuz if there's anyone out there with a boatload of cashy money who wouldn't even miss a few hundred million to indulge in bringing back a GREAT show, it's Mr. Microsoft...
When you come right down to it, aside from property rights issues with FOX, all it's gonna take is money to pay to make the show again. Once it's paid for, you know some network will buy it -- or they could just send it straight to video and stand back whilst the Browncoat Hordes descend... Could happen.

Maghaffar, I know Mr.Gates and have talked to him on several occassions about this. He,being a shy type of fellow tells me that he usually stays away from these type of deals. You know he travels with a group of bodyguards and quit going to the movies after the "Kill Bill" movies came out. Mr. Tarantino put the fear in him and it took me a while to convence him that these movies were about another Bill and not him.
Anyhoo, I have thought of this many times and I think the "Blue Hand" guys may be up to their old tricks. You know threatening ppl with their prong thingy. Even the rich. We'll just see where it leads.

Nope . Right idea , wrong name . Bill Gates is not your man . Paul Allen is . I've been wanting to campaign Mr. Allen for this for quite a while now . Just haven't gotten to putting it in print , yet . Now it is . Browncoat minds think alike .
Why Paul Allen is our Corporate Angel , saving the 'Verse for all mankind :
1. He's got the coin . Lots and lots of shiny coin .
2. Already put up major coin to finance a space ship . 25 megabucks for Burt Rutan's SpaceShipOne . To win a 10 million-dollar prize . ( Yeah, Jayne , we know you fail to see the percentage in that . He did it to advance the prospects of personal spaceflight , not to win the cashy money . ) So money's no object . He's a billionaire . A very astute billionaire .
3. Mr. Allen , to further advance regular folk going to space , has started his OWN space program .
4. Mr. Allen is a truly hardcore science-fiction fan . Probably already a Browncoat . Started the science-fiction museum in Seattle !
5. With a chump-change investment , Mr. Allen could finance season 2 of Firefly on a network other than F*x . Maybe HBO , where it could be widely seen , and sign up lots and lots of new subscribers , and finally get hugely-deserved notice as the quality content that it is . He would be 'my hero' . Seriously .
6. All of the preceding would re-ignite Firefly for all time , and our 'star truck' would go on forever . Lots of Browncoats carryin' greenbacks , on and on .
7. Mr. Paul Allen is waaaay cooler than Bill Gates anyway .
If anyone thinks of more good reasons to list here , please keep this thread rising , add your thoughts here ...

Considering that Blue Sun (the big bads of the series - which would have become apparent had the show continued) has been described as Microsoft crossed with Coca Cola you have to wonder if there might not be a clash of visions involved in such a pairing.
