Already mentioned, but Book with the hair and the whole interaction between he, Zoe and River makes my sides hurt. And the one where Mal and Inara are discussing when she fell and hit her head. Mal - "You didn't really fall and hit your head did you? Inara - (with surrender in her eyes) No Mal - (grinning) I knew you let her kiss you."

This is a great thread.
For number one I'd have to go with Book's hair. Not just River's reaction the but way it's followed up with Zoe's too.
Of course there's Jaynestown when they see the statue and Simon says,"This must be what it feels like to go insane." Then later when the guitar player starts singing "Jayne, the man the call Jayne." he says,"No this must be what if feels like to go insane."

Impossible to choose just one. Many of my favorites people have already listed above. But, one which I *ALWAYS* love to see is the Operative.....
(fade to the Reaver fleet howling out of the Ion Cloud onto unsuspecting Alliance goons)
Operative (in increasingly high frantic tones): "Target the Reaver Ships. *Target The Reaver Ships*! Target *Anyone*! ** SOMEBODY FIRE** !!!!"

In Jaynestown when River is trying to fix Book's bible " Noah's ark is going to be a problem " I just crack up every time.

I loved Book's hair. He just looked so much like Einstein at that moment, I thought she was freaking out over seeing the living face of a god of physics or something until the dialogue later. Zoe's reaction was priceless.

It's been said, of course, so I'm hardly original.
Regardless, for me the entire, "Did he just go crazy and fall asleep," scene is one long drawn out funniest moment and the moment he collapses while grabbing at the light like little angels is the absolute funniest normal sized moment.

the best protracted funny scene, for the acting
of all participants, and for the lines.

This is my first response and I haven't figured out how to do the official quote thing yet ... Not sure if this has been mentioned but I really liked Mal's line in Heart of Gold when Mandy kisses him - there's a pause and she asks what's wrong and he responds "I'm just waiting to see if I pass out."
