The whole thing with suicide boming was very provocative I thought.

I'm not liking the Starbuck with child and cylon hubby angle..

Still.. its good to have BSG back again after such a long hiatus.

A couple of thoughts on Starbuck's child. Seemed to be a bit older than a child produced from her ovary taken in "The Farm" would be. Second, don't you think the kid's "accident" could have been a set up?

I'm enjoying the direction the show is going, particularly the political relevancy. I listened to Ronald Moore's podcast, and he talks about the political angle, but he said that it's more about war in general, not just the Iraq War. Regardless of whether or not you beleive that, I still think they're really ratcheting things up this season. Everything about the show seems to have taken a more "in your face" approach.

I'm really impressed with the direction in which Tigh is being taken. Its not that I agree with his tactics, although I certainly understand them, but rather the fact that it's nice to seem him portrayed more strongly. Moore said that was always the intention. Part of the reason that Adama keeps Tigh around, aside from the fact they're friends, is that when it comes down to it, Tigh is the man you want in the trench with you. He's the guy who's going to get things done. And it's about fraking time I'd say.

As for Starbuck, I'm not as wild about that story line, but the possiblities are endless. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. And Lee....we'll he needs to get his fat ass in the gym because it's distracting. Every time he's on screen I start laughing, and I don't that's the effect they want.

All in all, I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.

I sort of liked Fat Lee. It kind of justifies everything I’ve ever thought about him. *cough*Wussy*cough*

I’ve always thought of Tigh as the kind of guy you want in a fight. He’s always been the military voice in Adama’s ear. His big weakness was his drinking, which made it difficult for him to think straight.

The whole Starbuck thing was sort of filler. Didn’t do much for me.

Probably the one big thing that I didn’t like was the whole dynamic of being in New Caprica. It was painfully obvious where this was going from the beginning. Battlestar Galactica may be gritty and expose the rough side of human nature, but at its essence is the struggle of life and the beauty of the human spirit and hope for a better tomorrow. That’s what made the original good and it is what has made the new version great, but this stuff on New Caprica really isn’t working that angle too well.
