I'm sorry, I havn't been on the messageboards in a long time (as you can see by my signature...) but September 30 has been engraned in my mind as the next big day...Sereniversery, I remember discussing it...but this thread made me wonder...are we even trying to spike sales again? I've been begging my dad to get me another copy of the box set on this day to help in the buying them effort. The inviting newbies to come see it on that day sounds great too...but I'm not sure who to invite...I've already gotten everyone I know ether converted or deleberatly saying no...but the E-mail I can do.
What I REALLY need to know is, will buying the series box set from the new/used section of Amazon.com help bump it into the top ten?

Hi Ladyknight! We're glad you stopped by for a visit again.
'Course if you're lookin' to do a little early Christmas shopping now would be a good time to buy Serenity.. you know-- have your shoppin' all done. 
In fact I'd love it if they'd bring out a Shiny Edition of the BDM, I'm sure we'd all buy the heck out of that!
Please take part in the letter writing to say thank you to Universal. Just seeing our numbers should be enough and it's good to say thank you.
Get together with friends and have a party ( a shindig, with chinese food and a cake with tall candles?) and invite folks over who have never seen Firefly or Serenity and introduce them to the shiny 'Verse.
If you'd like to buy a DVD of Serenity that would be wonderful, that can only do good. If you already have enough copies, gift it to someone. Or give it to your local library.
I think I'm going to buy a copy and gift it to www.whedonverse.org. They make sure that libraries everywhere have a copy of Firefly and Serenity and other Joss Whedon works.
As to whether or not buying Serenity right now will boost it into the top ten again...if enough folks do it, I'd say yes it will. But enough folks would have to do it. Maybe buy a copy to send home with someone you've invited to a shindig. That'd be a nice gift. 
Finally another thing that you can do is go say thank you on the website in my signature. It is a website where you can upload a picture of yourself or make up a picture with a thank you to Universal for the movie in it. This doesn't take the place of doing the letter writing but it's fun to do too! Go check it out, there are lots of wonderful pictures over there and they're having a contest.

Is anyone else getting a little nervous about this...?
It might be a tad late to mention this, but it occured to me that those who submitted to The Big Damn Thank You site might want to mention it in their letters. First, because it shows just how sincere your Thank You is, and Second because it draws attention to the BDTY website, which we want Universal to see anyway!

Gettin' nervous, but countin' on my fellow 'coats to come thru and do the job. They are mighty!
Conversely, Tim... if someone has posted on the BDTY site, don't take it for granted that Universal will see it. They might not. We need those cards and letters to arrive in their mailroom. So they can see that we're grateful.
If you'd like to mention the BDTY site in your letter and email, that'd be great. If you'd like to mention the letter writing thank you to Universal in your wave or upload to BDTY that would be shiny too. ( Just remember don't ask for a sequel on the site.. they'll not accept it.)
Don't forget, if you're of a mind to purchase the DVD of Serenity for a gift during the holiday season, the 'Versary is good timing for that. Not crowded, does a lot of good, gifts are bought... all that's left is gift wrapping.
