He touched the world. I remember my reaction to one of his first shows. I thought "must continue to watch! This fool is going to get ate!". Then I just fell in love with his show.
The passion that he shared with the world. HIS passion. The animals. He was not a fool, he was a genius. He hooked half the world with my response and the other half because they loved animals. After a few shows I wished him a long life but continued to watch because of his passion.
Steve Irwin was a great man! BDH for sure!

Well, I guess it's unanimous. -glee- Glad to know I'm not the only person who thinks of Steve Irwin as a BDH (then again, I didn't think I was anyway).

I was always so comforted by his fear of parrots:) I had a bad parrot experience and those things give me the willies and it was always nice, when people would give me a hard time about how harmless they are, to say " yeah well if Steve Irwin is wary of them ,they are obviously the most dangerous creatures known to man" So let's give a rousing cheer for our BDAH( Big Damn Aussie Hero)

I've always wanted a parrot. or some sort of bird. Can't wait 'til I move out of my house and I can get one. 
But for now, I'll stick with my friend's parakeets.
