Thorne's move:
Thorne turns away from the still sputtering captain and heads for the stairs to the common area. As he walks past the pale dude with the red eyes, he has that strange feeling again, but this kid's too young, and too remarkable looking, to have been in the program. Thorne hands him one of the bottles of tequila. "Happy Birthday, kid." he says with a grin.

Mal's move:
[Mal looks around the cargo bay once more as crew and pasengers start for the common area. Pools of booze and blood are drying on the deck plates. An occasional shard of glass falls from the trailer. One of the truck's tires is slowly going flat, sounding remarkably like someone giving him a particularly juicy raspberry. He's got to calm down or there'll be blood on the walls when he goes upstairs. Raising his clenched fists above his head, he starts to curse.]
"Ni ta ma de. Tian xia shuo you de ren dou gaisi! This go she is gorram unbelievable! Just once I'd like a job that didn't turn to Chou ma niao right before my eyes! Why does the 'verse always want to tai-kong suo-yo de shing-chiou doh sai-jin wu di pigu? I really don't deserve this."
[Feeling better, he heads for the stair. On the way, he grabs a bottle, breaks the neck off on a convenient stanchion, and pours a stiff jolt of tequila down his throat. Time to get his troublesome passengers squared away.]

Rowan's Move:
Location: Simon's Room, after Zoe has left.
Left alone in the doctor's room, Rowan lets herself relax. She's on board and barring any unforeseen unpleasantness, finally on her way to New Hikido. She can remember easier negotiations to get on board, but at least it's done.
Moving out into the hall, she turns to go up to her room, lightly brushing her fingers on the Serenity's smooth walls on the way. She wasn't spinning a yarn when she told Reynolds she liked the Firefly. Unlike some ships, there is a coziness to a Firefly in the way the crew quarters are designed, and an efficiency in how it all fits to accommodate the cargo hold.
Stepping inside her room, she slides the door shut and lifts her bag to the bunk. Opening it quickly, she pulls out fresh pants and a semi-sheere long-sleeve shirt. Slipping the robe off, she stretches again to eliminate the last of the kinks left over from an undue amount of tension, and gets dressed. While she's taking a brush through her still-damp hair, she hears gunfire from somewhere outside. Reacting quickly, she moves to grab the attaché and pull it to the head of the bunk. Opening the side storage bin, she shoves it as far into the back corner as it will go. Closing the bin firmly, she's still barefoot as she darts from the room and heads for the access stairs leading to the cargo bay just as the truck crashes into an unsuspecting four-wheeler on the ramp. Hearing Zoe chew out the fella called Thorne, Rowan easily recognizes the opera enthusiast from the Hara Cary, with a bottle of tequila in each hand. Rowan smiles and figures her situation may have turned just a bit shinier.

OOC: Must dash to work before am late. Will post more later!
OOC to GEEZER: Go Geezer, Go Geezer. Or to put it more succinctly: "Whoa...Good Mal." Oh, and To Quote Capn Rahn: *Homer'esque* mummmm... dark chocolate! I behave with dark chocolate the same way Kaylee does with a strawberry. Just an FYI
OOC to CAPNRAHN: I'm thinking being an engineer takes more than a measure of creative thinking. Art is about composition - finding the disparate parts of an image and putting them together. Difference between you and me is you can probably do the math without trying. Me? Not so much. Write your descriptions however you see fit, Capn. You're doing a pretty shiny job thus far.
OOC to CIARA: AWWWWWW, woe's Ciara!!!

Slights turn:
Brink watches the captain lead the way to the common room, and takes a deep breath. He can tell it's going to be a long day, but he's used to those.
Slight turns to Damon, and watches the doctor take care of him. He'll be fine, Slight realizes. Now it's his turn to be worried for his own welfare. Slight follows the rest up to the common area, and puts his hand in his pocket, fondling the small device there. He hopes to all the Void he doesn't have to use it. . .

Inara's turn
Zoe's voice over the intercom draws the attention of everyone in the cargo hold. They all begin to make their way up to the galley.
Finally, only Mal is left. Inara watches as he explodes--profanity of every type spewing from him mouth. His hands are bunched above his head, fingers clenching and unclenching. Her heart swells for him. She watches as he breaks the neck off of one of the bottles and takes a long draught. She winces at the sight.
"cutting your face to shreds on broken glass isn't going to make this situation any better, Mal." she calls down from the catwalk.
Mal turns to face her, deep blue meets soft brown--she sees the anger in his eyes, frustration and rage mix to harden his gaze.
"can't ruttin' hurt, now can it?
I thought you fancy companions were all about your privacy 'an such--odd to see you sneakin' around spyin' on people. Just can't help yourself?"
Inara laughs. "nothing about you has me helpless, Malcom Reynolds"
She turns to exit into the galley, and hears the thud of his boots on the steps to the catwalk.
She feels his hand on her arm and she turns to face him. A significant glance is exchanged, and he moves on ahead of her into the galley.
Inara shakes her head and enters the galley, where the rest of the crew are waiting.

Slight:
Slight stands before the rest of the crew, and first takes off his blue glove, laying it to rest on the table. Immediately, he feels as though he's been lifted-like he just shrugged the 'Verse off his shoulders. He turns to the crew, and waits for someone, anyone, to tell him to begin, to go to hell, to do SOMETHING. He feels so tired, all of the sudden. Then he scans around to locate Simon, wanting to say he's sorry, sorry for what's happened, and what has to happen.

Mal's move:
Inara laughs. "nothing about you has me helpless, Malcom Reynolds"
[As Mal catches Inara on the stairway, he gives her what he hopes is a meaningful glance, conveying his hope that she won't cause him trouble while he's deciding what to do about the new passengers. Last thing he needs is her poking fun. Makes it rough in discipline. He enters the common area, where everyone is assembled, and looks back as Inara walks through the door.]
"Good. Now that we're all here, let's get down to business. First off, maybe one of you [points at Helsing and Damon] can tell me just who the guai you are, and why you think its a good idea to bring the gorram purple-bellies down on my ship. Make it good, or you're walkin' home from here."
[Finally noticing that Damon looks pretty bad, Mal asks,]
"Doc, is this liou mahng gonna live long enough to give us his sob story, or just die now an' save us the trouble?"
[Ignoring the glares from Inara and Book - they should know he's just talking tough - he waits for Simon's answer]

Book's Move
Location: Galley
Book to Mal
"If I may captain, I don't think anyone here thought it was a good idea to have Alliance shooting at them, or us."
Book looks around the galley at each of the new passengers, taking each in.
"Let's not put them on their guard right away."
Book laughs, and relaxes his look, trying to put everyone at ease.
Book to everyone still standing
"Why don't you all have a seat."

Zoe's/Wash's Moves:
(Combining moves here, since neither needs much at the moment.)
WASH finds a fairly deserted spot not too far from the docks and sets Serenity down. He rushes to the galley to make sure not to miss anything (as tends to keep happening). WASH enters the galley and takes a seat next to ZOE just in time to see BOOK and INARA glaring at MAL, and wonders what he's missed. He looks questioningly at ZOE, wondering what he missed this time, but she shakes her head - so slightly as to only be seen by him - his cue that she'll tell him later. WASH leans forward, arms resting on the table in his usual pose, as BOOK speaks.
End Moves.

Rowan's Move:
Location: Common area stairs, lurking behind the goings on in the cargo bay.
Rowan's mouth fairly waters over Thorne's description of the sensor pod. She can see the configurations, feel the pods workings in her hands, imagine them going smoothly into Serenity's systems. The B-series argon gas cannon could prove a bit problematic as a Firefly's specifications aren't exactly designed to support that kind of firepower. Then again, there's no telling what kind of enhancements the little mechanic has managed to perform.
Seeing the look on Reynold's face, Rowan can tell he's gotten more than a little overwhelmed by it all--a fella can only handle so many fires at one time, after all. With a brusque order to get underway, Zoe gives him a measuring look before she moves from the goings on in the Cargo bay and takes the forward catwalk stairs to head up to the bridge. The blonde man follows, grinning like a kid who went on the biggest ride in the park and lived to tell the tale.
Seeing the young man who had been a quivering mass on the dormitory floor only moments ago now tending to one of the two young men just on board, Rowan's surprised to notice the deft movements of his hands that suggest ingrained practice. He's a doctor? Then what in the nine hells was all that business before? She's heard tell of physicians answering the old adage of "heal thy self" by self-medicating, although he seems more than capable enough at the moment. Definitely a product of core-world schooling, no question about it. Nonetheless, physicians who take matters into their own hands can be dangerous at best, to themselves as well as others.
The one in the long coat looks like something out of a nightmare - not quite real and a just a little too quiet. When he does speak, he's succinct and matter-of-fact, but it's plainly obvious he's holding back something. Catching the glare the other boy tosses to Reynolds, Rowan decides that one could bear some watching. Youth saturated with anger combined with whatever manner of weapons he was carrying - and he definitely looked the type to be carrying - can lead to all manner of unpleasantness.
Everyone has secrets, no one knows that more than Rowan, but she wonders if Reynolds can tell it. With everything going on, a fella stuck in the thick of things often can't see what's going on right in front of him.

ZOE Over Intercom : "This is Zoe. We need all personnel - and I do mean all - to the galley immediately"
-----------------------------
Time for the meet and greet.
Hearing the Firefly's engine power up, feeling the subtle vibration of gentle power in the deck under her bare feet, Rowan turns and leaves the captain to his troubles. Returning to her room, she locates a pair of hemp-soled sandals in her bag and quickly slips them on. Closing her bag, she shoves it into the next bin over under the bunk and then heads out, taking the back stairs up to the galley. There she finds Zoe sublimely steeping a cup of tea. Book is leaning over a large pot that contains some heavenly smelling concoction - shepherd was a fair hand at the stove at that - little Kaylee taking extreme delight in the food on her plate, and the large fella from the cargo bay standing at Book's right, staring at her the way small boys stare at the best chocolate in the 'verse through the store window.
Now he looks just as good standing up, doesn't he?
Moving over to the stove, she leans over to take a long whiff of the shepherd's stew and lifts her eyes as she raises an eyebrow at him. In her peripherals, she can see the Big fella's focus on the curves clearly revealed by the semi-sheer top and figures this is the one she likely won't have to worry about too overly much. Looking at him, she takes another deep breath and watches his pupils dilate. Making good use of his distraction, she takes account of him herself, noting broad chest and shoulders, nicely shaped hands and a vaguely vacant expression. Definitely wouldn't take much in the
