This man really needs to stop talking to the press. Click the link, scroll down, and select the video. Hilarity will ensue.

I was expecting something a little more damning than a regional pronunciation. If Bush were a black man would we poke fun at his accent?

Sure, I know he's a phony Texan, but how long does he have to live down there before we let him talk as if he lives down there?

HKCavalier

Hey, hey, hey, don't be mean. We don't have to be mean, because, remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

Sorry to disappoint. I personally don't think its a question of his accent, but rather it's his complete mispronunciation of the word. Sort of along the same lines as when he tried to say "nuclear."

He added the mere shadow of a syllable between "ec" and "lectic," just as many people from the Southeastern United States will put a pause between the "ath" and "lete" of "athlete."

"Nucular" on the other hand is more an issue of raw ignorance, I'll grant you.

But what does this obsession with the president's diction serve? You think it's funny? Still? I think the way he blurted out "andtwoShakespeares" was funnier, though I feel sorry for the guy since he's obviously self-conscious about being thought of as an unschooled idiot.

That was no pause between syllables. That was an added "a". And was funny.

Just when I think the man can't seem any dumber he proves me wrong. I don't know why I am surprised. This man rules our country for two and a half more years.

the sad thing.... as bad as this man is... as bad a president as he is.... what is even worse is that a majority... majority of the citizens of this nation voted for him.... TWICE !

who's the real moron?

I guess I'm just easily entertained.

Yes. Hilariously so.

That was funny too, but I'm still going with ek-a-lek-tik.
