Okay. . .here's how much Firefly has ingrained itself into this little Attack company in Afghanistan. All of these are dead true --

Special Forces ground commander and his team were pinned down. Called my crew in for close air support. His radio call was, "Aces Three-Five, this is Saber Six. . .we've got some local color happening. A grand entrance would not go amiss."

A young mechanic was trying to complain about something he didn't fully understand. Our First Sergeant turns to him and says, "Clint! Your mouth is talkin'. . .you might want to look to that."

Our Company Commander was telling us about packing some stuff for our trip home which will be in about three months. . .he said, "We'll be flying back light, so 'THEM AS CAN' should start mailing extra stuff home right away."

How's that?

Yeah, thats a big one for me too. Ain't also seems to be guest starring in my daily vocabulary more and more.

My darling fiancee, was the best though (I've told this story here before, but I love it so much I'm gonna do it again) when he was helping me with a post for one of my online courses. Someone had said something powerful (!!) stupid. He ranted for a minute, then looked right at the screen and said "your patient should be dead". First I nearly died of shock because he is a fan but not prone to random quoting as I am, then nearly died of laughter. It was beautiful.

I think it was just a really big echo from Afghanistan.

Oooh shiny, Afghanistan echos

I'm so intrigued by the fact that guys in the actual armed forces 'an such spout firefly'isms :)

I haven't started doing it too much yet, but just because my hubby would look at me REALLY WEIRD.

then....the other day he said "frellin machine"...so now I can say gorrammitt :P

I do have fireflynaelia all over my cellphone, desktop, and every available metal surface.

I'm currently cursing in cantonese AND russian thanks to my dear Capn Rahn--he's good at makin' degenerate dirtymouths of young ladies....well, that's prolly not true

Just a humble supplicant in service to all things Joss

That ranks up there with some of the shiniest stuff I've I've ever seen on one of these so far. Static, did you convert your entire company with the DVD or did ya'll go over in Firefly mode?

I mean I was just sitting in "The Missing" last night thinking that if this were Firefly, the crew could just swoop in and shoot the bad buys. I could very clearly see Serenity landing in the open area behind Cate Blanchett's house. And what kind of brain twisting could River do to the creepy black shaman? Now THAT I would like to see!
