How is PageRank Used?
PageRank is one of the methods Google uses to determine a page’s relevance or importance. It is only one part of the story when it comes to the Google listing, but the other aspects are discussed elsewhere (and are ever changing) and PageRank is interesting enough to deserve a paper of its own.
PageRank is also displayed on the toolbar of your browser if you’ve installed the Google toolbar ( http://toolbar.google.com/). But the Toolbar PageRank only goes from 0 – 10 and seems to be something like a logarithmic scale:

I noticed that on a search for firefly we used to come up first, and fell to second at some point a couple months ago. Today's re-evalutation was a hit, and it does mean we will be getting less new traffic.
A friend of mine was able to kick himself up to PR1 by a simple trick of joining a lot of other people's forums and putting at the of each of his posts his site: maoxian.com with associated words in the link like (with < and > instead of ( and )) "(a href=maoxian.com\)Visit my daytrading homepage(/a)" Afterwords he came up first for a while not just for maoxian, but also for daytrading.
remember fireflyfans goes into the index as a word, and not the same word as firefly, which people will search on. so firefly would need to be included within the (a)(/a) for those who really want to kick this site back up.
It doesn't help us that the show has been cancelled and doesn't seem to be coming back.
I think one of the things which is broken in this country is television. The worse the content, the better it does. Good content is feared and hated.
