interesting...(you know I'm always happy to discuss Buffy & Angel...well, actually Firefly too...).
First season: The Pack
Second season: School Hard
Third season: Doppelgangland
Fourth season: Restless (I love Hush too, of course and New Man)
Fifth season: Crush (and The Body...and Intervention)
Sixth Season: OMWF (best episode EVER)
Seventh Season: Dirty Girls (and CwDP & Storyteller & LMPTM)
Actually I love the story arc in Season two, but I was surprised that there weren't more individual episodes I loved....
And I hated the story arc of Season 5 but loved most of the stand alone episodes....
This is why Season 4 is my favorite: I loved the seasonal arc and the stand alone episodes....

1 - Prophesy Girl
2 - Bewitched Bothered and Bewildered
3 - Dopplegangland
4 - Restless
5 - Family. Not the obvious choice I know since it has some of the greatest episodes in the entire show to compete with, but you did say favourite, not best, and this one just makes me feel wonderful every time I watch it.
6 - Once More with Feeling
7 - Chosen. Just about beats Conversations with Dead People. Just.

I've only seen the first two seasons and part of the third, so here goes:
Season 1: "Nightmares". I really loved how Joss used elements of old horror movies to illustrate the gang's nightmares.
Season 2: This was hard. I really don't know if I could decide, there were a lot of great episodes. "Becoming, Part 2" was one of my favorites, though.
Season 3: I haven't finished yet, but so far nothing has topped "Lover's Walk". James Marsters was godly as Spike, and I still crack up laughing at the lines.

3 - The Wish (Although followed really closely by The Prom)
4 - Hush (but I love 'something blue' too)
5 - The Body
6 - OMWF - Best ep ever
7 - Conversations with Dead People (I'm having a hard time chosing between it and Selfless, though)

I think it's cool here how we don't all choose the same ones, or make the most obvious of choices.
But also no question as to why OMWF comes up more often than any other ep.
