Morwen...actually I'm not in the SCA. I just have lots of friends who are and Pennsic is open to all, so I go and help merchant. Ya just gotta dress properly for it. And yes, it is as much fun as folks say. Even when there's torrentials rains, unrelenting heat and bitter cold (got a bit of all three this year.) 
When you ae old enough to go, let me know! What Kingdom are ya in anyway? I be in MidRealm, were I a real Scadian.

Hi Guy! *waves*
The SCA is the Socitey for Creative Anachronism. It's a medeival appreciation society. They hold a "war" event once a year called 'Pennsic' which is were I've been for the past two weeks. Yep, living in a tent in 50-90+ degree weather and wearing medeival clothing. I don't fight however. I help sell stuff like books, stationary, feathers, jewelry and stuffed plague rats.
