When Mal shoots the man from the Trading Station in Lilac, who is being overtaken by Reavers, they seem to loose interest in him, which is why Mal does it. River herself, as has been pointed out, says they want their victims alive when they eat them.
So I think Wash was safe from any profanation by the Reavers. They do skin their victims, but it appears they don't always do that when the victim is already dead (*shudder*), and even if they do, it's probably someone they got, not someone they found already dead.![]()

I'm an evil, evil person. Don't let my snappy, bitchy reply kill you. I feel better about those replies when people tell me that they're bitchy, cause then I can explain that I'm not a nice person.

May not be smart, and it may not please you, but you're definitely gonna see what I have to say.
- Of course, that would have been the case, had I actually been referring to the conversation at hand directly and not just my USERname. Read a little closer.

Cybersnark,
EWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!! That was sick!
You, too, Kaneman, though yours was less repulsive than Cybersnark's.
I'm off to look at some pictures of our poor, dear Wash -- you know, when he was alive and well. And not being spoken of in such manners...
EW!!!!!!!!!!
Random thought: I think this type of conversation may be what the vomit smiley was meant for, if I didn't find it a bit too gross to use one... eh, forget it. This situation calls for one.

Lissa37 sorry for the bad visuals. I think they are both rather amusing.

No need to apologize, Kaneman. I'm just not fond of that kind of humor... not my thing. It's fine for those who enjoy it, though.
Clearly, Penguin is in your camp, though. Ew.
For those who react to this a bit more like me, here's a Wash picture to make you feel better:
