"I thought our entire universe resided inside a small marble hung fronm a cats collar?

or was that just a galaxy? How would we travel from galaxy to galaxy? would the cats have to stand really close? thats not something i'd want to do, cats are so unreliable...

I think maybe the giants thumb senario is more likely. You wash too often, you'd have scrubbed it clean away.

So if a tree falls in a woods, and theres no one around to hear it, does it make any noise?

what? don't look at me like that, we're five paces from my apartment, thats as deep as i'm willing to get."

As long as the Gnome's name isn't "Flower" I'm good with interacting with gnomes (long story and you might have had to be there to find it funny).

If we run into chickens, I have chicken confusion powers (really -- I grew up on a farm and can imitate chickens. I torment them every year at the fair. Makes my friends laugh -- wish I knew what I was telling them...)

I can imitate budgerigars, and cats.

but sadly my chicken exposure is limited.

as well.

You're not getting the point of this are you?

Well the answer to that one it sort of/no.
Sound is a vibration right? So it remains a vibration until something with an ear drum turns it into sound. Considering this it some mystical wood, where there is absolutely nothing around to hear, then it just remainas a vibration.

Now, you knew that already, but i figured i'd repeat it just to show willing. and now i'm going right back to the shallow.

*starts humming 'Good Vibrations' by the beach boys*

Okay, here are the suggestions, let’s see what I can come up with in the end.

The Knights of the Octagonal Ottoman, led by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Carl Jung, Sigmund Freud, and the Ghost of Tom Berenger, (members of which including, but not limited to: Peter Parker, Hatshepsut, and Pazuzu) are attempting to stop previously mentioned chaotic space rooster.

Hmmm, where to go from here. I know we're battle ready, but are we as ready as we could be? I've heard of a new gunnery technology that's being developed out near the edge of space...think one of the birds told me.

Anyways, we could go out there and stage a heist and "liberate" the technology from 'em...then we'd be battle ready.

Tom Berenger... wouldn't the reanimated Barbara Cartland be more effective?

Ok, I've heard of those space chickens, darn pecky blighters. What we need is a giant wooden fox. Then we can all hide inside, and when they're sleeping, we can jump out and sell them to kfc.

Can we harvest the space chickens and farm them to feed the Zanzibarbarians?
Wouldn't they run from a fox? We should make it a mouse.
*thinks about Tariaki space chicken and steamed rice with veges.*

Okay, here is my best attempt to incorporate all of your ideas:

Centuries ago, a coalition of SCA aficionados, Renaissance Fair-goers, and Fantasy Role-players departed from Earth-That-Still-Is and colonized the planet Zanzibar in order to live in a style of their choosing (mostly by wearing armor, swinging swords, and saying things like “Prithee, Sir” and “Huzzah!”).

They are ruled by kings, queens, dukes, earls and barons, but there is also a mysterious, special organization, the Knights of the Octagon, eight individuals whose magical and martial prowess are unchallenged. One of the original KOO members was the Great Oracle, a mystic seer who wrote down numerous prophesies in a set of famous scrolls. One of these prophesies dealt with the coming of the Dark Harbinger, a creature that will bring with it the tides of destruction, and by extension, the end of life itself. Mostly, the Prophesy of the Dark Harbinger was ignored, since the Great Oracle was, for the most part, a nut case of the highest order.

Anyway, the inhabitants of the planet Zanzibar (who refer to themselves as Zanzibarbarians), discovered soon after they settled that the environment of their new home was not conducive to the breeding of horses. In fact, all their horses died within the first week. The scientists and magicians among the Zanzibarbarians attempted to rectify the problem through magical genetics. Although they bred the odd race of gnome and fairie, they could not get a good riding beast. The centaurs were the closest they came, and they ended up being too willful.

Luckily for the Zanzibarbarians, there existed a native life form that could be adapted to their needs. It was a large creature, stuck somewhere on the evolutionary path between the Tyrannosaurus Rex and flightless birds such as ostriches. There exists a scientific term for these creatures in proper Latin, bu

"Well, unless there are objections..." TheRealMe taps at the control surface of his bridge station, and then leans back to relax. “Ms Bride5, take us out of the world, please. Then, once you break atmo, set these coordinates and activate the hyperdrive. We should drop of hyperspace over Zanzibar in a few days."

He takes another look at her and pauses.

"Uh, Bride5, with that body paint from the Pageant, you ARE still essentially naked. Would you like me to call Ath to the bridge to do these maneuvers while you go off to..."

Quincey grits her teeth. "Him? Naw. I got it." She touches a few controls and the Sereni-Tree leaps into the sky.

TheRealMe calls Jet in main engineering. "Bride4, I'd like you to spin up the hyperdrive engines, please."

OOC: Considering I wasn't smart or quick enough to get in a suggestion in I will play along. It's not the weirdest thing I have ever heard of and later maybe I will have a suggestion of what to move onto afterwards, until then I can get midevil on somebodies ass. This could be lots of fun.

you never know sweetie - they're a planet full of SCA-ers, there might be time for a quick game of cloven fruit in the middle.

I for one am looking forward to bulgy-eyed cries of 'polyester was NOT a staple of the 15th century wardrobe!!!!'
