CAPNRAHN-Character I want to play on a part-time basis is that of a enforcer/hit-man. Sort of like Jean Reno in "The Professional". Except he doesn't just keep to one world. He travels around incognito. Plying his trade to the highest bidder. Might know someone on the crew from his past. (I hope it's the Aryn Suun-like character.) Could use the Dragon-class ship as transport from one job to another. Travels under alias of merchant or banker. Sort of a have gun will travel meets homocidal maniac kind of guy. May also have connections with some kind of Maffia-like organization. Whaddaya think?

Ya know, every character is an 'Archetype', with a 'History', has 'Quirks' and keeps 'Secrets'.

Where at in Texamus? I was stationed at Carswell AFB for 6 years in Ft. Worth. Snif, I was on the base closer team.
Robbert was supposed to be haunting over here as he is a Firefly fan as well. I'll goose him into it and meebe get him to play his Avatar of Heropa Riftalope.

CAPNRAHN-Already got a name:JONAS HEXX. Yes, he will be ex-military. Trained and served with the Independents. Everything from infiltration to zero-gee combat in free space. I like the idea of maybe building up a relationship or rapport with Maro. This could facilitate Hexx's "business activities". Also look forward to interaction with other new characters as well. However, think it best if not all of the crew knew of Hexx's extracuricular jaunts. Maybe Captain could provide cover story for small percentage. Hexx is skilled in all manner of a ship's ops, as well as weapons. Such as swords, munitions, high-energy weapons, projectile weapons. Good with more exotic weapons and poisons as well as surveillance equip. Transports a large "box of tricks" with him that stores all his tools of the trade.

got a little of Milla's backstory done--not sure I'm gonna stick with this yet--a little of it depends on what the person playing Heropa writes..we have to get together
was intrigued by a russian/chinese culture mix
let me know if you don't approve--this is a VERY first draft--just a few minutes work
Militza (Milla) Elena Tanaka (not sure yet)
was born to an affluent family on the planet Ariel.
She grew up surrounded by wealth and excess, and led a fairly innocuous life.
Mother Linka was a seamstress/clothing designer--famous on Ariel
Father Mihail was a pilot and systems officer in navy
Brother Sebastian was enlisted
Younger sister Liliya died in childhood-(unexplained so far, Milla may feel responsible--secret?
may lead to irrational fear later on)
She tinkered constantly with the house electronics, learning what she could from her older Brother
and her father--who was a ship's pilot and systems' officer in the navy.
When the battle between the Independents and Alliance began, Milla's only brother Sebastian (older)
enlisted on the side of the Alliance. Milla had never been comfortable with the Alliance's policy
on free will and human rights.
Unbeknownst to her family, Milla began an underground safe haven for the alliance movement in Ariel.
Once she was found out--her family disowned her to avoid any bad enganglements with the Alliance.
This crushed Milla, especially the disgust her brother felt for her
Milla had no where to live, so she accepted free shelter at the local Buddhist temple (met Heropa Riftalope?)
She found many Independent sympathizers there among the assorted drifters also housing in the temple.
Milla spent her time doing chores around the temple and discussing systems, programming, and exestential philosophy with the monks.
When the call went out for enlistment in the Independent army, she (followed Heropa?) took the call, and joined. (Heropa will describe ship, etc...stationed with him?)
She quickly learned her way around a ship's computer systems
Was at the battle of Serenity--(with Heropa)--most of her regiment was slain--part of the hundreds Malcom Reynolds had to keep together afterwards.

now is ship's avionics tech on the Justiciar.
secrets: none YET, 'cept for the whole nude thing *grin*--and perhaps what happened to her sister
quirks: strange hair and clothing (Mother's influence)--speaks in an odd mesh of english, chinese, and Russian (assuming I can learn some)

I REALLY like it! The name too, I just used Milla so I would remember 'how' I wanted her to look.
But one note ... the crew listed on my first post are/were all Alliance Military.
Most, 'cept the Major, worked for Maro on the flight deck of a carrier.
Also, the crew was at the battle of Serenity Valley.
I am meebe gonna done something 'fannish' ahd say that the fighter Mal shot down in the pilot was actually 'our' Major.
