fantastic post today Capn...sure, find someone you think knows what Simon needs to do in the next few days, and let 'em take over--at least so we'll have a medic, not necessarily to advance his plot.

Any info that you need (as a 'deus ex machinia' tool, for ya) and you think Niska would have - you could get from Simon -
Only a single caveat: This Info-Gathering-Session (IGS, so I don't have to type it so much) HURTS and will drain Simon and he will become VERY quiet and distant. He will act 'differant' for about an hour or so, depending on the length of the session and number of answers he is able to pull up.
As to post-IGS action:
Simon will drift around like a shadow, observing everyone - not necessarily being a voyeur, just direct attention to details. If caught 'observing', he has no shame of it - just looks 'em in the eye, nods to aknowledge the oher characters wish for privacy and moves on.
Speaking to others Post-IGS:
Answers questions with them most minimal of words. If he can, he will use gestures to indicate any answers, pointing to a shuttle or room in answer to "Where is So-in-so?" for example.

Hello all .. been talking to our GM about character choices .. going to give the role of the the engineer a pass ...
He has said I could design a new main bridge pilot of my own design who has to talk his way onto the crew of the Justicar rather than be already established in the role .. or it might be a pilot of one of the shuttles or fighters ... he can be ex-alliance if the GM want .. it might be interesting to throw in a browncoat into the mix ...
not sure right now ... probably will opt for the main pilot option and only the pilot job (and the GM can have a seperate first officer position taken by Major {ret} Hlastoni ... the GM and I discussed my character being of higher rank or somesuch and I forget the conversation right now but I don't see the need for the good Major to be downgraded ... perhaps hes not needed ... maybe the Cap'n is looking to fill the slot after the Major left or was crippled ... and let those regular PCs vie for the first officer spot ... I kinda like that option .. random thoughts here )
and its likely I will use as my avatar Cary Elwes ... I and another were having trouble seeing all the pics ... so I took them down .. might be able to post the links or the pics on my blog .. maybe

All things on this thread are -bouncing ideas around- type of situation.
One I get most of the synop and a good handle on the bios. I will make this thread "RP 'Dragonfly' spin-off series bible"
...or some such, so readers of our experiment can catch on in an easy manner AND I have a place to put the 'decided on' items. Doesn't make the things posted there immutable, just ideas from the "RP Green Room for"PK" firmed up, so to speak.
Oh, StJayne sent me an excellent email. He had his ideas for Hlastoni in 'bullet statement' fashon. If yer unfamiliar, here is an example ... I'll use Marovech:
1) Marovech is war torn and weary, but he belives in rolling with the blow.
2) He has a scar running from the top of his skull down through his left eye, the eye prostetic/bionic (but not bionic man quality, just the minor attempt of the Alliance to fix Maro), an artifact he gained after the Battle of Serenity Valley {forever now acronymed as BoSV - editor}
It gave me the opp to insert agreements, changes and additional Dir. info. I think it works out quite well as a tool to suss out a character.
I have several ideas about each character ... but there are SO many. This method helps me solidify the ideas.
Thanks to St.J for reminding me of that type of question/info format! And to PumaManRedux for his email ideas for the new 'outsider' character.
{btw: I agree on having him a Browncoat, was thinking the crew needed a liaison to smooth things over in the mid worlds and rim.}

St.J sent me a series logo in the color and font from 'Firefly' (much grass, mi amigo!) but I thought it should be a different color to differeniate (color) 'Dragonfly' from 'Firefly' but show a connnection (font). So I altered it a bit ... I can alt LEAST do that on Photoshi ... I mean ... shop.

I just touched up the hue, luminosity and such.
BTW, the Justiciar's 'exuast' may be that color as well, to show that it is using a different ... 'fuel'(?).

Question: Why "Justiciar"? Yeah, it's noble and makes us sound all manners of intelligent, but what are we to justice? I'm thinking this reasoning would shed some light on the world-view of the person (Maro?) who named her.

This better represents his nature (the Sad Day).
Pre-war, Hlas was a charismatic lady-killer. Post-war, although he never talks about exactly what happened, he is repressed and loveless. His fighter was downed in the Battle of Serenity. He lived, but lost a leg and some guts. The leg is an old-style prosthetic and the intestines are replaced by synthetics.
