"And a girl, in a box." Kinda ruined the surprise, didn't it. I really can't even sarcastically thank FOX for this. I thought the trailer was okay, until the girl in a box thing. However, FOX still messed up when they aired it. I don't even remember seeing an ad for Firefly, I just tuned in on Friday as was usual for me, I was lucky enough to catch the belly-dancer comming across the screen and THAT is how I found Firefly.

It's funny that most of the images came from the pilot they didn't even air until after the show was canceled!
And they didn't use the right font!

Ha! Now I now what Joss was talking about on the commentaries when he kept saying that the ads with the girl in the box didn't exactly help River's surprise entrance in the pilot. Which they didn't show 'till they cancelled the show anyway.
This is what a series promo ~should~ be like. I'm desperately hoping someone on our side of the Atlantic picks this up!

Now imagine a Firefly trailer done with the same style and drama. My head hurts just thinking about it. Imagine what a hit the show would have been then, with that kind of backing.

Technically speaking, to get the footage from the dvd to your hard drive to edit, you're gonna need 3 things:
the Quicktime MPEG2 player (20 bucks at Apple's online store)
MPEG Streamclip
and
MacTheRipper.

Ugh.
You could tell just by the "Yeah, it's out there" that Fox was dead set against the show from the beginning. The tone of the narrator's voice? Just hollered 'Don't take this show seriously' till the viewers' ears bled. All I can say is, if they ain't kicking themselves now, I'll do it for them.
