Went to see it today i thought it rocked and as for Kiera Knightley (or however you spell it looked) she looked sooooooooooooooooo fit 
. But anyway, enough of that, i thought it was great good mix of comedy and action.

I observed that they missed an interesting chance to modify Jack Sparrow for the 3rd movie. One of the "typical" pirate images is of a hook hand. And there was jack with his left hand chained to the deck when the Kraken reared up it's head to spit out his hat.
I thought that represented a good place to cut the scene and show the kraken destroying the ship at a distance. Then in movie three Jack can recount his escape while brandishing a hook hand and in a flashback we'll see him bring his cutlass down on his left wrist before getting away. It would have been a tad gruesome but it totally fits the image of a pirate capt.
Do not fear me. Ours is a peaceful race, and we must live in harmony.

One of the things the production team
wanted to avoid even in the first film
was too much peg-leggy, hook-handy stuff.
Now that there's a series projected they
may change a few things, but I'd say that
sticking Captain Jack with a hook-hand
would be far too limiting to his potential
activities through the next films.
It's one of the things they could save for
the absolutely last film, but I'd be surprised
to see it any sooner.

What can I say? I went in wanting to like it...and I wasn't disappointed. Granted, things were a bit shaky at the start - what with the seemingly endless repetition of jokes from the first movie (e.g. "Why is the rum always gone?", Jack's ability to confuse Gibbs with his grammatical gymnastics, etc.) But by the end I was significantly wowed, and will definitely be seeing this one again. The only thing I didn't get was the whole "Elizabeth's horniness is making her fickle" thing. She loves Will. Always has. Is there really any doubt about how this will end? Deal with it and move on. (Not that I'm against Cap'n Jack gettin some, you understand...the man's a god, we all know it, he's got his share of women, there's just no need for him to sully Will's bride.)

First off, that ninja review was phenomenal.
I saw the movie yesterday and agree with most of the gripes people had with it and that it was good which is dissapointing due to the excellence of the first one.
But as far as Elizabeth kissing Jack to chain him to the mast, I thought that was a brilliant scene because it was a complete role reversal between the two. If you remember, there was a scene earlier in the film where Jack told Elizabeth that she would want him because of curiosity and she wanted to see how it felt to act on impulse. Then Elizabeth told Jack that he would do something to prove that he is a good man because of curiosity as well.
Well...Jack came back, proving he is a good man and Elizabeth manipulated him and acted the Pirate. I thought it was dope.

I did enjoy the movie, it was entertaining and cute. I could pick apart many things, mosly that they went with slapstick instead of cleverness, but I won't. A movie based on a ride... Yeah, my standards are a little loose with this.

The guy behind me gasped with shock and joy when the other pirate guy showed up. I was a little confused by that, but I guess I'm just not a rapid fan of PotC.

Not a bad movie. Could have been better, as most of you have said...waiting for the third. I'd like to comment on DeepGirl's post regarding Naomie Harris. I had first seen her in 28 Days Later and was very impressed. In this movie...wow. Those eyes and that accent? Yes, ma'am!
