Because of the problems FFF.net was having, the Amazon rank tracker on the home page is missing the data from May 15th on, only kicking back in on June 22nd. Or is this something that Haken keys in manually? Hmm.

i bought 2 since it was dirt cheap. I WAS going to buy 4 at the 11.88 price but the increase would have capped my spending limit.

I went to my local bestbuy today and was happy to notice that the serenity stock pile was higher than any movie on the shelf. Not only that, but half of them were missing :-D.

i didn't participate in the mass mailing unfortuinately, been too busy with moving and such.

I bought the Firefly series at my local mall, a couple of weeks ago because I hadn't seen it in forever, and I'd forgotten how much I liked it. I didn't really know much about it--I was like, "The WHOLE series!?!? Four discs!?!?" I didn't realize it was canceled, lol. But I spent my last dollar on it, literally. But the lady at the desk was a Browncoat, I can see that now, because she kept trying to get me to buy Serenity. I really felt bad, because I didn't have any money left. I'll buy it though, I promise! Don't hit me!

Interesting - I'm checking out AMAZON rankings , the day AFTER. Somehow Syriana is on top of the list. WTF? Ok, so I never saw it,but still.... On the radio, the satilite systers are doing a quick dvd review, Syriana. The lady didn't like it in the theatre, but 'thinks' she'll like it on DVD. Whatever.

I don't suppose it was any mortal sin to buy SERENITY from a store, instead of through Amazon.com, was it ? Sure, the Amazon numbers might look a tad bit prettier, but isn't the goal of all this to boost total sales of the movie ?

Hope not. I have been preaching from the fruition of this "BUY" idea not to ONLY hit up Amazon. I got a set from Amazon and Best Buy.

My reasoning:
If we hit the retail establishment as well; that gets retail execs talking. Even right down to the stock boy who has to put them back on the shelf. To make a news story in our genre of entertainment and beyond it takes someone to present it to an editor/site/magazine. (like the Charity Screenings) With hitting various sellers/locations across the world we have more people involved and more BUZZ is created. ...and the more BUZZ the more people may buy and the more interesting it is to reporters/article writers... the BUZZ will create more sales...

my two cents may only equal that... but hey... uhhh... seems logical.

Heck no, buy it from where ever you want. Amazon.com is just one of the quickest indicators as to how a product being purchased by an internet-oriented fanbase is doing
