And in the context of the verse as presented via Firefly/Serenity - that's not necessarily a bad thing.
I wonder how we'd all see the West if we only saw it from Osama's view?

She is the Germany Jewish Queen of England, head of the British-Commie-Nazi-Alien-Jew Super-Conspiracy that is setup to keep PirateNews from fulfilling his destiny as most amazing intelligent and talented Human being ever. The only reason he seems like an untalented psychotic dribbling arse is because of our efforts.
Now if you'll excuse me I have a Jewish-Germany-Commie homosexual orgy to organise, her Britannic majesty is having a celebration and I still haven't found any Virgins for sacrifice. Modern Britain, short on virgins, long on teenage pregnancies, how the hell is a servant of Moleck supposed to make a living exactly?

Why on earth would we want to be like Mal? The guy's a loser!
He has no sense of direction or focus ("the wind blows North, I go North")
He's too chicken to go after the girl he wants.
His income keeps dropping, despite being willing to do almost any job.
He gets over-sentimental about his passengers (keeping River and Simon on board) and over-harsh on those he doesn't know (throwing the guy to the Reavers)
He fought a war, lost and still hasn't gotten over it years later (say it with me: therapy)
He has one outfit and it's all patches and stitched up.
He also suffers from bed hair.
Looo-hooo-hooooooooo-ser!

Ohhh.... the topic!
I am like Mal in at least one way.
I get all fogged up when I see Inara.
If we could just get rid of the whole EGO and GOLD thing that has been spreading around the planet, we might get a lil closer to so-called Mal-like killings.
GO CANES!!!

Though he takes no pleasure in it, he's also a little too kill happy for my liking (in a real world context I mean, in a sci-fi western context it makes perfect sense).
He shot the surrendering pilot of the ship that killed Book, a step too far in the real world.

I didn't get a color coded terror alert after that though.
I'm waiting for my color-coded lollipop to remind me of what the threat level is today, mmm, extra PAXy, if you please, with a side of the Kool-Aid, too.

I believe we called that the Weimar Republic.

Well, being that Book wasn't likely to reach the same destination as his fellow citizens of Haven, maybe Mal wanted to make sure he had some company on the ride down ?
Bwaahahahahahah
Couldn't resist the straight lines... imma bad, bad man.
