Then what's flocking, because I know it's a sewing term? Oh dear!
Oh, and I remembered that I have these two shirts I bought a few years ago that I LOVE. When I first saw them I had to buy them because they looked like female DPR shirts. I bought the black one first because it has sleeves like DPR's with the SMOCKING on the arms. And it's just a plain cotton shirt with v neck and collar, but it has blue flowers embroidered on the arms and neckline. I liked it so much I went back and bought this cream coloured one that has pink flowers embroidered on it.
But when I bought the shirts (sheesh, probably about 4 years)

Flocking is actually fine fibers, such as wool, applied to a smooth surface such as wallpaper or fabric to form a raised pattern. Confused me, too...
I am probably going to plop down in front of the tv tonight, watch Serenity and practice my smocking...
