I thought it looked more like an open-weave monk's-cloth type...cloth...for that portion of the sleeve. Very handy for movement, especially sword-fighting!

And: Oh no, it's just that they're terribly comfortable. I think everyone will be wearing them in the future.

Hmm..I thought it was the way it was stitched. Either way, faboo, and fantastic looking.

No, really, I must know! (I know, wrong scene, but it fits in so well here.)

I thought so too, at first, but there are a few close-ups of it that lead me to believe it's the cloth...much research will follow!

Get used to disappointment. (No problem, this is fun!)

I absolutely LOVE how Inigo does this resigned shrug thing right there. Really, it's genius. I adore Mandy Patinkin.

(oh, and I could quote PB all day long. It's ridiculous.)

I agree. Very talented man; wonderful voice, awesome presence, not too shabby with a sword, either!

Well, continue if you like!

I am looking through PB photos right now...the sleeve actually looks like it's flocked on the upper arm part...I am trying to find a good, clear picture of it...

FLOCKING! that's the word I wanted. The seer suckery word. Flocking.

My mother made me a dress when I was little that had flocking on the front of it. It's a pain to do.

I loved that dress.

I made several Christening gowns that had flocking in the bodice and on the sleeves...yes, it is a pain, but the results are worth the pain!

Found this gallery...screencaps of a decent size...gives good details on the outfit:

Before I get my Costumer card revoked, allow me to make a correction...it's smocking not flocking...if my costume professor saw that foible...

very nice. I do not mind looking at screen caps of Cary Elwes. No I do not.

I mean, yes, detailed pictures of the costume, very helpful!
