Grizwald, your kids should be proud that they have a mom cool enough to shop at Hot Topic! I've been proudly shopping there with my mom for years. I love it because she great at finding the awesomely random stuff that I would never spot...I really don't get the whole "embarassing mom" thing. Maybe I'm just a Mommy's girl, lol.

My dad likes to wind my "too cool" brother up by going out shopping with him, then looking at fairy ornaments and girly things.

Its especially funny, because my dad's hair is longer than mine, and he's your streotypical old-style rocker, some of the looks he gets are hillarious.

Hot Topic is one of my favorite stores.

I had a similar experience! I'm a middle aged mom and it took me forever to find the Serenity shirts (must be the failing eyesight). The salesgirls were very helpful and didn't seem to mind my very suburban khakis and polo shirt attire! My daughter was too young to be embarassed (5 yrs. old), but she quickly realized that Hot Topic was not a store that Mommy usually shops in!

Found some great shirts my husband would appreciate - lots of great retro stuff!

Wearing my new Serenity to the June 23rd showing of the BDM in Albany, NY!

Mal: It's enough.

Well, I'm definitely going to keep checking their clearance section. My eldest was happy to find a Panic! At the Disco tee shirt for six dollars.

Y'all here should be ashamed of yourselves!
Why, when MY parents were about fourty, THEY were respectable!
You'd never catch THEM shopping for fun TV and movie-related items! They never ran when they didn't have to, or laugh 'till they cried, or discussed stuff that wasn't REAL!!!

I miss the day when peeps realized that 35 was your cue to start getting OLD!!!

I used to work for a sister company of Hot Topic and all the people that work for it are great. They may be kids(well most of them), but they love their jobs, especially the goth kids, and I know for a fact we loved it when the moms would come in(can sell more when the wallet is right there ). Hot Topic sells a lot of movie tees, so it's a good source if you are looking for that stuff, even the more obscure ones. Don't be scared to go in, it may be black and red and there are a few objects that will impale you, but the kids are friendly and I think it would be great if a suburban mom walked out with her one t-shirt and maybe a KMFDM cd.
