I am an avid Buffy fan, and I live in the UK, but have only heard of Firefly relatively recently.

Can someone tell me what it is, what it's about, where it's set, is it anything like buffy??

The only thing i know about it is it's Joss' show and that Jasmine from Angel and Caleb from Buffy is in it!

Can any fans help me?

The part that you may find to be similar is the mood as far as humor and darkness goes. It can be dark or sad (you know Joss) but is filled with witty remarks, much like Buffy. Other than that, it IS really different than Buffy. There is much less references to pop culture, being in the future and all, and it takes place in space, very much unlike Buffy. If you're interested in seeing other people from Buffy on the show, the guy who plays Dobson, the guy who plays Tracey (Jonathan Woodward), and one of the Alliance people were all on Buffy at some point. Actually, I think they're all hat-tricks too.
