Blade Runner Final Cut finally on its way!

I know the Internet is a fast moving place, so this may already be ancient, but just in case you haven't heard:

"Warner Home Video has acquired worldwide rights to Ridley Scott's "Blade Runner" and is preparing two DVD editions of the landmark 1982 science fiction classic.

In September, Warner will release a restored and remastered version of the film's 1992 director's cut, which debuted on DVD in 1997 as one of the first movies to appear on the format. This version of "Runner" will only be available for four months.

Next year, to celebrate the film's 25th anniversary, Warner will release "Blade Runner: The Final Cut," which it is billing as Scott's "definitive new version" of the film. After a limited theatrical release, the newly spruced-up "Runner" will be released in a multidisc special edition DVD that also will include the original theatrical cut, the expanded international theatrical cut and the 1992 director's cut."

"Limited theatrical release"? We will have another chance to see Bladerunner on the big screen? Cool..! Thanks for the news!

However, what is this fubar:

Uhhhhh...search on Amazon. You can buy the Director's Cut DVD for under USD$10. Are they missing something, or am I?

Great news indeed.
Only question is which version to watch.
I have a soft spot for the original theatrical, but I suspect I'll watch 'em all at various times...

Finally! This film has been crying out for a Special Edition for a long time. It's good news the set will contain both directors and cinematic cuts.

The cinematic cut is a total different film from the directors cut. I don't think the cinematic cut is better than the directors cut and vice versa. Ok the directors cut has some extra scenes (not all directors cuts are longer. Directors cut of Alien is 6 minutes shorter), however the cinema version has the harrison Ford narration which totally changes the film. I like em both :)

Ridley Scott is one of my all time favourite directors, love his films. And can't wait to see this on the big screen. I don't think I was even born when it was first released!! And that 2nd DVD sounds sweet!!
