You cannot go wrong with Ridley Scott. Alien was done 1979. The film has not aged. It still looks fresh today, as any other big blockbuster, even though the movie was done on a tight budget. Number 2 in my list :)

Yeah Alien is another classic, my favourite of that series. Scott is a visual genius, he has an eye like no other modern Hollywood director. I think it's significant that he started out in advertising - he really learned how to fill a frame. And he always features strong female characters in his work, like some-one else we know and love
