(Iie... For the record - such as it is - Jossy isn't the first X-Author to address the "mutant cure." It's been done many times throughout the ages, so one could - if one cared - claim that the new movie lifts a lot of stuff from all those other authors. JW just did it the bestest. )

Joss wasn't the first one to do the cure, but the movie did use HIS cure story specifically; they're using one of his original characters, Kavita Rao.

Yep.

JOSS: Well, there’s probably more of me in the third than the first, since they’re using my ‘cure’ scenario as a jumping off point (to be clear, I know many people have done cure scenarios before me – X-Statix did one that came out just months before – but I didn’t know that when I wrote mine. So my wildly unoriginal idea was, in fact, mine. Avi told me they were using it (and the character of Kavita Rao) for the movie, possibly because of the more modern genetic forum, possibly because they didn’t read the other ones either.

You haven't seen my comic collection lately...
(Sold a gorram quarter of 'em to finance my Buffy obsession, and I still got almost 1,500 hanging around!)
Still have my first Superman comic from when I was seven; it cost 12 cents at the time...

and probably worth a small fortune now, huh?

I'll bet your family is enjoying the Buffy & Angel tapes more than they were allowed to enjoy the classic comics collection (because I'm assuming you really did have them sealed in protective covers... I was just continuing Hell'sKitten's joke about abusing of comic books)

I've been rewatching old Buffy's and I am really up for a continuation of the story!

My son's too young, and my wife won't watch anything w/demons or vampires, they give her the creepy nightmares!!!!
*Chrisisall pulling his hair out*
Only one of my friends has even casually watched Buffy on broadcast TV!!!

(and that particular comic has seen better days, prolly only worth $10 or so...)

Chrisisall, alone in Buffster appreciation, 'cept for y'all here...

I had a friend who was afraid to watch them too...
but really they are pretty cheesy monsters (particularly that first season)
and the metaphor is the real story...
at any rate my friend only ended up finding Hush to be scary, and even that didn't give her any nightmares....

but I know how it goes...it is hard to change someone's mind when it is made up.
Luckily the shows hold up, so you know your son can enjoy them later...

So how about that Buffy season 8 thing, huh? (feeble attempt to get away from thread drifties)

Wonder if MPhillips should start pestering Dark Horse....
