Haha, do you live in liverpool? It's really odd though- your friend sounds a LOT like mine. I too feel taken for granted (have for years) and it's really starting to get to me. It sounds like you made the right decision though. Friendships can't be one sided- you both have to work on it, and I often feel like I'm working on it more than she is.

No dueling pistols here. No worries.

So how is everyone today?
Me? Oh I'm doing fairly well. Could always be better.... it could be time for D*C.

Seph, you coming to D*C?

Exactly - my reasoning was if she really valued it she'd miss it and make contact - I didn't even need an apology - but if she didn't, then I was better off with out her.

I miss having that one 'best' friend, specially as theres been no significant other to take up the duties, but on the whole, i'm happier not being dragged through the mud constantly. So fear not!

('sides, I have you guys - you may all not be there physically, but i've never been in a situation before where I can say something and people actually understand me! I'm as happy as a pig in poop.

This is why I love the nook! I get the whole 'dragged through the mud thing'. I just sent my "friend" an email that will probably end our friendship forever. At the moment I'm oddly okay with it.

Okay, I don't mean to play devil's advocate, but I feel I need to say this.

Yes, it's not fair when friendships are one sided and you feel you've been taken advantage of, but look at it from the side of the other person. I've been in this situation before. Being a rather self-assured, dominant personality, I tend to have introverted, quiet friends who don't always tell me what they are REALLY thinking. I may say or do something that hurts their feelings, but I don't always know it because they DON'T TELL ME. So, for them, things build up, grievance after grievance stacking one on top of the other and I'm over here grievance-less because if I have a problem with my friend I tend to deal with it before it becomes a huge issue.

And then, what happens is that one day I do something small, but it's the one thing that throws my friend over the edge, we have a huge blow up, she drags up all these things from months and years past that I wasn't even aware of. Suddenly, I'm this horrible horrible person who'd done so many terrible and mean things, completely unaware that I'd done them.

Now, I would hope that I've grown from having this happen to me in the past, and I try very hard to keep good communication with my friends. But I have lost friends this way and it really really hurts (especially when it happens on your 18th birthday). But, I've always been able to reconcile with some other friends and our relationships have become stronger because of it.

Long story, sorry, and I do hope it doesn't apply in your case.

And I hope hope that you can work things out. I'm sorry you've been hurt, I really am. But you must come to D*C and party with us and forget your woes!

That's awful Serenity, we all seem to have bad luck where friends are concerned:) My situation is more like, my "friend" would prefer it if I didn't voice my opinion or feelings. She's more the pretend it doesn't exist and it'll go away type. I usually let things slide cause it's just easier but this situation was too important to just forget about it.
Anyway, what's done is done and I feel better that I confronted her about the situation.

I would love to come to D*C but it really all depends on my school schedule but otherwise it shouldn't be a problem. However, if I do go, how will I know who you guys are? We'll need name tags with our FFF.net names on them.
