A question about the music in 'Chosen', the Buffy finale...

The music from "Chosen" (and other parts of season 7) can be heard (and downloaded) from here: http://www.duncanmusic.com/buffy.html. A few other clips by another composer for episodes 1 and 3 are here: http://www.bleujean.com/drsprojects.html#buffy
It's my favorite of the pieces from Buffy - especially as a big Spuffy fan, because Buffy and Spike finally have a theme (and one that rivals the Buffy Angel theme, which is heartbreaking).
By the way, searching the web for pieces of the Buffy soundtrack is confusing, but you can find an awful lot out there.

Ah. Music is music.
Forget I asked.
Got over it fast Chrisisall
Man now you got me at it! Ok big C I'm going to have to watch this again.
I usually pay attention to scores and such but must admit I was so swept away at this point, that it was the last ever Buffy, that I didn't take it all in.
However if it has that Irish/folkish lilt to it perhaps it's harking back to a more primitive time , maybe to allude to the begins of the 'Slayer' lore.... Maybe *Shruggs* although that'd probably work better if it were drums......
....Damn I got nothing for you fella....

"The Final Fight" from Chosen is also on the 'Radio Sunnydale' soundtrack. (every Buffy fan should own this).

The music from Smashed, at the end, when they start to have sex, has been bugging me forever. I know initally it is a variation on the Buffy/Angel theme, but the haunting voice that comes in at the end is from somewhere else. I think I just figured out that its from the very end of The Wish, when everyone starts killing eachother and the Master snaps Buffy's neck. I know that you just watched all of them, do you happen to know? I haven't seen The Wish in probably 3 or 4 years and can't get my hands on Season 3.
I don't think it's meant to be a variation of the Bangel theme--the Smashed track was written by Thomas Wanker, the Bangel track by Christophe Beck. The instruments do sound the same though.
And I agree the voice does sound a lot like the Wish voice. Very effective in both cases.

i just re-watched "The Wish." Very similiar, enough for me to have made connection. But I don't think its the same.

yes i'm obsessive. because i've listened to them back to back. and if it isn't the same music, i'm convinced Joss said to someone: "Use this for a guide, it's what I want but a little different."
and now I'm dropping it. I swear.
for the record: both of them are probably my fav music from buffy. except the end of chosen. and i have some theories on where that was borrowed from as well. NOT Buffy. I'll get back to you when I have more info.
Oh, Chrisisall, why did you ask this question? WHY?
