15 when I saw it, and knew she was referring to the more obscure member of the Marx Brothers quartet, Zeppo Marx. I just don't think she'd actually watch Marx Brothers comedies, however, so the quote's a bit out of place.

I didn't get the reference in and of itself (I know the Marx brothers were comedians with first names ending in "o", but nothing more than that), but later Cordelia makes some reference to the Marx brothers, so I figured that Zeppo must be the one that never got famous or ended up doing badly or something like that.
I was in my mid-20s.
I still don't get the William Burroughs reference one either.
