After having finished S7 on the Chosen Collection, I have to say THANKS JOSS!
That smile on Buffy's face at the end was worth all the pain of particular episodes- the fact that she made it through, she won, she has a real chance at happiness, it just makes me SO glad I bought it and saw it to the end. As someone prone to a little depression now and then, this was a real lift to my spirit! At the end of season five, I was crushed, and wanted no more. But lack of Joss (and a little encouragement from folks here) made me press on.

It keeps going through my head, Buffy's last speech, the power to the potentials the world over, the end of the Hellmouth (even though there IS that one in Cleveland...), it's all just so awesome.

A better end could not have been, IMO.

Just felt the need for a positive rant

Without wishing to be negative...

To be fair, he couldn't have killed her because it wouldn't have had the same impact. Once is powerful, twice has its moments... three times. not so much.

I did love the end as well. I was scared it would disappoint. The moment with the four in the hall, ending just like "The Harvest" is perfect and pure Joss. The spell is fantastic. And the energy from the moment Buffy tells off the first and Faith kicks off all those vamps thru to the end is amazing. Your heart jumps. And there is that music you like!

Anya was the perfect death. If it was any of the core characters we wouldn't have been able to pay attention to the end. We would have been sobbing, breaking our TVs or something. When Anya was killed my heart caught in my throat and I welled up and cried out, but I could keep watching.

Well, she started out having been a Vengeance demon, hard to think of Joss NOT killing her as some sort of karmic thing.

Yeah, I was about ready to bawl when Xander said that line about her always doing the stupid thing. I felt so bad for him. But I agree that it was a great ending. That whole episode was fantastic. By the way, CIA, what'd you think of Once More With Feeling?
