So yeah isnt this thread supposed to be a joke and not real? I think if anyone should be empress it should be me, except emperor... and not in a cat suit, jeans and tshirt kind of thing.
And by the way agatsu.. .can you create a thread, just for that poll? Alert people about it? I didnt know about it, until you posted it, and I could post it on other boards too if you want? You shouldnt put this in the vote now thread, because well thats freaken huge. And mention in the title its an anonymous poll.

Yeah bud, but in the political wrestling and wrangling, you might end up with no date and no blip at all.
I endorse both dates, and there's enough time between them that I can save up my pennies and buy a copy on each of them.
And never forget that Firefly and Serenity are fun. When any promotion or idea makes it stop being fun, it's time to re-evaluate the idea or promotion. I haven't seen anything divide the Firefly fan community like this since Wash died.

well, there was the questioning of the marketing of the movie, and the DVD cover craptacular, but I do agree... this is really bad... and yeah its starting to lose its fun appeal....

Well, I keep saying that ONE huge impact is better than TWO medium sized tremors, especially PR-wise. Everyone is free to do what they want, though, and buying the DVDs is never a bad thing, but the whoooole point that started this whooooooole issue was to buy the DVDs, united, on ONE day. Apart from that, the sales on the SECOND date would have to be higher no matter what, or it'd look like we're losing fans, and some Browncoats may not be willing to spend money again.
I'm gonna be so glad when this is over and I can spend more time in the fun threads...

I just did the math:
There are 54 days until June 23rd.
If you want to buy a 20 dollar copy of Serenity on June 23rd, you only have to save 37 cents per day to afford it.
There are 99 days between June 23rd and Sept 30th.
So after buying your first copy of Serenity on June 23rd, you only have to save 20 cents per day to afford a second copy on September 30th.

wow. all i have to say is that this thread got all sorts of ugly. I don't understand the bickering. We have two dates, let's run with both! we are problem solvers and intelligent people. We have slated june 23rd already and there's at least a large chunk of people that would liek that day to stick, so be it, we'll do somthing on june 23rd for joss' birthday.
Serenity day is supposed to be about celibrating the movie and such- logically, that should be september 30th.
so you dont' have a charity screening in your city: have a small shindig in your house and collect 5 bucks per person to donate to the charity. Have a poker tourny! what more is western than playing poker! the pot will be devided- 1/2 to charity 1/2 to winner.
'cmon guys, we can do tons of things here but a lot of us got off track.
bottom line, no one can argue that the charity is a bad idea. and suprisingly enough, it'll help our cause in a good way to draw attention to the numbers there also. We want to get universal's attention too? we'll do a big campagn on september 30th...three months later, i doubt we'll be broke from june 23rd.
i'm sorry, the way i look at it, i dont' see any reason to argue and this is just upsetting

Well, a brick could do a better job than Kaele is doing atm, because she is working AGAINST what we want. Ok, I've been staying out of this, and this is the only post I'll make on this subject - but I think this is really, really unfair to Kaele. I've been working with her and not once has she acted like she has "the power". She did put it to a vote and the original group of voters did say that June 23rd was a good day to keep. That changed as other people came in, which is cool, we're all Browncoats, the more the merrier and the more plans the merrier - but don't paint Kaele out to be a dictator. She's not. She's worked hard despite have a fair amount going on IRL.
She has always been willing to listen to my input and never tried to force anything on me. I really think it shows poor form to drag her name through the mud. Even if you didn't like working with her, there's no cause for it. Just go and do your own thing, that's fine. Sometimes people just don't work well together, it happens. But don't trash someone on the forum. It's immature and creates a general environment of ill-will.
And that's all I've got to say on the forums about the mud slinging that's been going on. If there's any response, please PM me. I don't want to take up anyone else's time. Can't we all just get along?
