Haken is a highly sophiscated virtual construct created by Succatash...

Succatash IS Haken!

Think about it. Have you ever seen them together in the same room at the same time?

Well, a brick could do a better job than Kaele is doing atm, because she is working AGAINST what we want. I don't care HOW MUCH she is doing, since she is doing it for the wrong ruttin day and the wrong ruttin reasons and NOT for us Browncoats, brushing reason and all the votes and pros for September 30th aside to go through with what SHE thinks is best for us.

Okay, can someone explain how these two statements go together? "working AGAINST what we want", "wrong ruttin day", "NOT for us Browncoats"? I consider myself one of those but I don't recall giving you permission to speak for me. You have a tally of a few dozen votes and you're already considering the issue settled. It's ironic how you lash out at this Kaele person for thinking she knows what's best for everyone. Organise all you want for September but let others do the same for whenever they feel. People who feel inclined to buy the movie on 9/30 will do so, those who want to do it on any other date will do so. If you want them to get it on a specific date, do your best to convince them why but you're putting down someone with the same intentions. We're not an ant colony, we're a diverse group of people with different mindsets and opinions who just happen to have one thing in common. Being an Independent isn't peaches and cream all the time, eh?

One little fact I'd like to emphasize is that every sold copy helps, no matter what day it's acquired on. When I first heard about this Serenity day thing I thought it was a nice way of showing appreciation for something we love but after all this ruckus, I'm not sure if I'll be a part of it. You can be sure I'll always be ready to spread the word to anyone who will listen though.

Hi there. Thought I could explain it to you, having written it and all.
So, KAELE's opinion counts more than that of the majority on this board who CARED ENOUGH TO VOTE? I'm aware that there's a lot of people just waiting to see how this turns out and then follow that plan, but those who actually care and get involved and thought about the whole matter decided for September 30th, there is no doubt about it. So when I say I represent the opinion of the majority, I do. Did you vote for June on the thread? Okay, your opinion. Now realize there's 2 1/2 browncoats voting for the September date, set in comparison.
Of course, if people don't vote, they can't complain, like in the real world. The people who DO vote set the course, and they set the course for September 30th.
For Kaele, that "tally of a few dozen votes" - admittedly counted only for the first few posts by her - was enough to unjustly justify her actions FOR THE WRONG DATE, I take it? But here you are, attacking me for speaking up on this fun little fact. I guess because Kaele isn't anywhere to be seen to say anything against anyone, it lets me look like the bad guy. But Kaele isn't here (great leadership!) because she's so into her own world and mission that she doesn't care what anyone thinks. I'm not down with that, and I won't let her take Serenity Day away from us and make it her own. And with "us", I mean the people on this board who care.
The idea of Serenity Day was to be UNITED on ONE DAY to make ONE big impact and show our love for the show. I was more or less the one getting people excited about the idea, although I don't recall whose original idea it was. So I was there from the start, and VERY closely watched what was going on here.
Kaele took command, and that was fine.
Then B!x from Serenity Now/Equality Now complained that us having our commercial Serenity thing would take away from his pure charity thing.
That's when the trouble started, but I actually thought something good came out of it, because it made people reconsider the date, and a veteran suggested September 30th, the 1st annual of the Serenity Permiere. At first I thought it was too far back, but the more I thought about it and talked to people about it, the more it dawned on me that September 30th is the way to go - we avoid trouble with Serenity Now/Equality Now, have more time, visit conventions, get more people together, maybe get cast members to motivate people, have shindigs, get the christmas sales for serenity going, generally spread the word - in short, make SURE Serenity Day hits its mark while making the highest percentage of EV

Wow Dudes.

How did a simple thing like being a fan become political?

So far as I can tell, the primo boss owner of this web site picked some hot chick in a latex outfit named 11th hour to be the spokesperson for web site activities.

So far as I can tell, some other chick named Kaele (sp?) has planned some alternative activities and is promoting them.

So why the need to bash one and hug the other? They're both promoting the cause. And that guy with the charity is promoting the cause, too. So it's an orgy of goodness. You don't have to pick one over the other. You can have them all.

Tell you what, we'll probably end up having two blips on the radar, instead of just one. Is that so bad?

Ah, it's a long and ugly story, even if it happened quite fast. Now that there's a vote up on vote.serenityday.org, it'll all be settled soon.

It isn't about Kaele vs 11th Hour, though,it's June 23rd vs September 30th for Serenity Day.

And even if September 30th is decided on, and after all the anger, I'd still be fine with Kaele being in charge of organising Serenity Day, as long as she is willing to listen to people and respect their wishes and not think that she has "the power". Like in a committee... comitee.. comm... council that talks about what's supposed to happen and what the people want.
Prima Inter Pares. First among equals. "Equals" being the key word here. As long as she agrees with that term for her, and the meaning, I'm willing to serve the will of the Browncoat community under her supervision.
I don't care as long as the one taking the "job" does it right and relies on the council and the favor of the Browncoat community.

So, as you see, it's not about someone versus someone, at least not for me.

Well, I keep saying that ONE huge impact is better than TWO medium sized tremors, especially PR-wise. Everyone is free to do what they want, though, and buying the DVDs is never a bad thing, but the whoooole point that started this whooooooole issue was to buy the DVDs, united, on ONE day. Apart from that, the sales on the SECOND date would have to be higher no matter what, or it'd look like we're losing fans, and some Browncoats may not be willing to spend money again.

I'm gonna be so glad when this is over and I can spend more time in the fun threads...
