Shoot. I got bushwacked by the Work demon for a few days and missed all the kerfuffle.
The summer-long thing sounds good though; I was wanting to contribute but I've been having trouble finding time to eat lately. Was scared the Big Damn Launch Window would close before I could (try to) organize anything (though I've no evidence that there's more than two Browncoats in this town, I am working for an agency with strong "charity" ties).

I'm not too fond of the idea of purchasing the DVDs on two different occasions, especially June 23rd...
It will draw away from the money people might spend on Serenity Now.
It will make the TWO impacts significantly smaller.
People won't be as willing to spend a lot of money AGAIN 3 months later, and the second impact would have to be much bigger. If we BUY, then 3 months pass, then only buy half of what we bought before in total on Serenity Day, nobody is going to be impressed, and Serenity Day itself (Sept 30th) is gonna be a match instead of a firework.
But if the majority differs, I'll give in, although I always hated saying "Told you so." afterwards. 
Other than that, my sentiments exactly.

Don't buy on 2 different dates. I am going to use the summer to try and bring more Browncoats to the fold.
I got some shiny new stickers for my car from Ebay. My boys and I have put in our order for some shiny new shirts.
I am going to get some posters. The town of Foley may find that they have a plethora of posters about something called Serenity or Fire-something....................it will be amusing. ALMOST as amusing as those rascals that tp'd the ex's yard.....

hey, i kinda agree on the not buying on two days thing, Mainly because i dont think a lot of people me including are going to be able to buy on both, that said some people want to buy on the 23. -fine says i. buy. i did think it might be a nice compromise if people buy for charities and such keeping the 23 sn/en theme going.
but i must say im not convinced on sales spike doing much at all, be it in one go or two.
Bring more people to the verse and overall keeping sales up, seems more important.
