I've been reading all of the threads concerning Serenity Day, and frankly, I'm beginning to get scared. Not just scared, frightened.

Guys, we cannot do this to ourselves, not now. Whether we lose the original date or not, we're beginning to lose something even more important than that. We've stopped being as much of a family.

I know I haven't been on the site long, but in the time I have been here, I've seen a dedicated group of intelligent, caring people. But in the last 24 hours, there's been more negativity here than I ever thought possible. That's not what Browncoats are about.

I'm comepletely behind Serenity Day, no matter what form it takes, but not at the expense of losing our community. So no matter what is decided, we have to remember what we're here for. We're flans, Browncoats, supporting the best gorram show (and movie) in the verse. We're here because we love something, and are willing to dedicate our time and effort into keeping it going. We cannot lose sight of that ideal.

We all promised to hold, and we are. But let's do it as one family, one crew. We still got an uphill battle ahead of us, and this site, this cause, is too very, very pretty to die yet.

At last.
We can retire and give up
this life of crime.

DeepGirl187,

I absolutely agree and if we could come together and do this as a "campaign" starting at June 23rd after supporting the SN/EN campaign, and going until September 30th... we'd all be shiny, really we would.

Please post your feelings in the voting thread, we need voices of reason and caring. I want my board back.. my shiny home I love so much.

Let's do it together. Not apart anymore.

Thank you, DeepGirl187

Yup. This is what happens when a group of folk get together and try to agree on something. Like planning a wedding, ya'll love each other but if Uncle Jayne is sittin' next to Cousin Badger.... a tussle is sure to break out.

Don't worry yet. These few are the folk that have STRONG opinions and need to be heard. The most of us are on board. There is 20 thousand here and a scuffle among the best of 'em is nothing to throw down arms for yet. Stuff like this takes time and planning and someone will always feel left out or betrayed or.........

Kaele is going about her business and will pull some rabbits out of her cunning hat and next thing you know I'll be printing some SHINY lookin' shirts and stickers that we can all use to gather the troops for the big day.

Just remember................

One day.
One mission.
One army of Browncoats.

On June 23rd, we aim to misbehave!

It seems like I read somewhere, just a few months ago, Nathan Fillion quoted as saying he was worried there might be a schism between long-time browncoats and the newer ones. Said he's seen (or heard of) this kind of thing happening with other fan groups. (I've no idea where that quote might be so can't give a link.) While this debate isn't exactly between old & new fans, it surely is a schism. I think our Captain would want us to get over this as quickly as possible and return to... oh, whatever else it is that we do.

I dont want to argue, i dont want to fight, i simply want to enjoy the shineyness of this site, and support ff/serenity in anyway i can.

When did that become so hard?

I remember reading the same thing, OF. And you are right, the Cap'n wouldn't like this. He'd be encouraging us to help the charity and then regroup and do the other campaign.

I can hear him sayin....

and as to whatever it is we are doin'

I like the droolin' over the Cap'n part the best!

*jumps into line and salutes*

I'm here.
I'm done fighting against our own troops. We're startin' to look like the Blue & the Grey all over again.

Deep slow breaths.
Bring it together.

We're a team and a team we shall stay!

I havn't seen much serious conflict arround the boards. (Well...unless you count that one thread about Book's last words that went haywire and got sent to troll country) Fact is, you get enough people together, there's bound to be disputes. As long as we're united at heart and know whatever insults get hurled arn't ment to hurt...Truth is we're more like the crew of Serenity itself then the independent army. Lots of differences, lots of squabbles, but in the end, we all love eachother. Families don't always get along all the time, but long as they still love eachother, and, in our case, love our shiny show, then we can always count this one a win. and that one. and the next one.

One day.
One mission.

Am I the only one who thinks we handled (for the most part) the debate on a date change well? (Yeah, I'm new to this whole thing, but I've been lurking and I know a lot of people involved with this effort. )

I actually think this is an amazing group of people, and a debate needed to be had. But it stayed a debate, and I never thought it got negative. I have strong feelings on the whole thing, but I would never think of getting down on people who don't agree. I think we did a marvelous job at expressing ourselves without getting mean.

I love my fandom.
