Hm, that gave me the idea that maybe an international TV co-production wouldn't be such a bad idea. If I remember correctly, LEXX was a German/Canadian co-production, for example. Their budget seemed to be alright (although I won't comment on the series' quality in general).

Everyone is missing the point here. Universal has no say about licensing the Firefly TV Series. In order for Sci Fi to license the TV Series, they have to negotiate for the rights from 20th Century Fox. Not only did Fox produce the show but they also distribute the show.

Universal only has the rights to the movie "Serenity."

arent they the same thing?? joss said there will never be another firefly. so the only other option is a tv show called serenity. it would allow stations like sci-fi to make it and not have to deal with fox and their firefly rights. i think he was thinking they firefly and serenity were one and the same.

i think it would make sence that a tv show called serenity would help, because if you went back and called it firefly, people be really messed up. if new viewers saw the movie it be a easier sell to newer viewers to pick up on. instead of telling them " well the tv show firefly was out first and then this movie called serenity and now another tv show called firefly is back again" huh, hehe my point exactly.

sci-fi just need to let the new show pick up where it let off at the end of the movie. kinda like stargate. then i feel it would take off faster. if they start switching timelines and jumping all over the place we will loose new viewers, i feel like.

Keep Flying!!

You know what. I want Joss to countinue the "Firefly" serius. I love it. I don't give a gorram crap what FOX want. Why can't SciFi just get Joss to countinue. Give him a whole bunch of money and he may be willing.

I was gonna post something along those lines.

Just wait until the slated live action TV show for "Star Wars" comes out next year, networks are gonna be looking for anything to try to capitalize, and follow the trend.

People were not ready in 02. Now we have all kinds of high production cost, movie like shows. I mean look at what CSI did. I cant even turn on the TV without flipping through at least 5 versions of the same, cloned, repetitive show. CSI, CSI:Miami, CSI:Montana, SVU, NCIS..... So basically im hoping people freak out for Star Wars TV, and with all the bad shows that will come from it, maybe Firefly/Serenity will have another shot. Its already got the fanbase. Oh and Futurama.
