If they were real, which Firefly character would you most like to meet and why?

OK, this is my first ever thread (swallows nervously, and glances around) so bear with me here.

Here we go...

Let's say you had the chance to meet one of the crew of Serenity (and just one), which character would it be, and why?

I'd have to go for Kaylee myself - simply because (as I may have mentioned before) there's more than one Simon that likes her. She's fun, quirky and has a good heart.

What about the rest of you?

He has such a good heart. I'd buy the rounds and play pool with him and just listen to the stories I hope he'd tell.

This is a good question, I would have to say "Wash"

The reason being, it seems like we know so little about him, and short of the series coming back, another movie, official novelization, and a minor miracle involving a stomach plug the size of a graefruit- we never will

Hmmmmmm... tough question... do I really have to choose just one? In that case I'd probably say Zoe. I'd like to know how she manages to keep her emotions in check the way she does without coming across as totally inhuman. And I'd ask her to teach me how to be as cool as she is

thats really hard! instinctively i thought 'WASH!' then i thought 'hm... maybe zoe...' but no i think id have to go with wash... hes just so... great?!

talking about the character being real though... i got serenity on dvd and was watching the extras about how they did all the spaceship stuff and realised that id never seen one of those shots as not real! i normally am one of those who picks apart films and special effects but i just assumed they had real spaceships... or maybe im just sad :D

Well, reality is just what our eyes and senses tell us it is, so.....

Seriously though, I agree - in some way the crew is real to each and every one of us (just not in a crazy kinda way! lol) and it's a sign of how good the show is that we care for it, the ship and the crew like real people - and like a family.

I'm of two minds here:

I'd LOVE to sit down with Book and pepper him with questions. Wouldn't that be a doozy of a lunch.

Probably, though, I'd have to go with Mal. We're very similar, and I'd like to ask him about it.

Then again, staring at Inara up close would not be a punishment either....hmmmm.

Sadly, if they were real, most of the crew would have nothing to do with me. I'm a civilian living on (the equivalent of) a Core world. The chances of my encountering a Rim transport crew socially are pretty much nil. Even if we ended up at the same venue, I think the conversation would be guarded and short (except maybe with Kaylee. That would be fun).

Nor do I move in the higher social circles Inara frequents, so I'd never have a chance to meet her, either.

The best I could hope for, I think, is a conversation with Simon on the basis of shared school memories ("Oh, you went to the University of Sihnon, too? I did a semester there."). I'd like that.
