Oh and since were on the subject of TV shows.

3 seasons of Hogans Heroes
9 Seasons of Mash
2 Seasons of Ren and Stimpy
2 seasons of In Living Color
1 Season of Starsky and Hutch
1 season of Rockford Files
1 season of Sanford and Son
2 seasons of News Radio

And yes it did cost a fortune.

I am a trekkie that doesn't own a dvd of any movie or series, neither do I have any models or action figures. But, I do write in an online simmulation set in the Star Trek universe, and have even captained my own starship.

I NEVER felt about any ST character the way I do our own shiny BDH!!! No captain has motivated as much devotion as Malcolm Reynolds, and no crew has made me laugh and cry the way Serenity's has.

Once you've been to the 'verse, there ain't any goin' back. I'm a Browncoat, pure and true.

I look out for me and mine... that don't include you 'less I conjure it does.

But Firefly is still #1 in my books.

All the Star Trek's put together wouldn't be one season of Babylon 5. No way Jose. I just think that B5 is over most peoples heads. Really.

i can't say my collection stacks up in anyway to yours.

Firefly
BSG 2.0
Smallville Season 1
Earth 2
Dead like me Season 2
Farscape Season 4
Full Metal Panic Box set (anime)
Martian Succesor Nadesico full series(anime)
about 7 assorted anime dvds
and about 20-25 assorted DVD movies

and prolly a couple of things i missed.

but of course this collection was made around the same time frame as my 30 someodd xbox, ps2 and gamecube games were bought. Also the computer i rebuilt with almost all new parts... 3 times.

hmm, and i wonder why i can't afford ot buy a car.

Actually the forune is what it is all added up cause, 1 season of Mash comes out every 4-5 month a season of star trek comes out every 2-3 months, and Hogans Heroes once a year. I have been building my little collection of mine for 5 or 6 years now, to add to it 16 PS2 games and 14 Computergames along with some 40 DVDs. And on the list of series and/or seasons I own I forgot to add Firefly didn't I?

I was just wondering if the Browncoats here were as big Star Trek fans as I am.

I own
All 3 Seasons on the Original Series
All 7 Seasons of The Next Generation
All 7 Seasons of Deep Space 9
All 7 Seasons of Voyager
All 4 seasons of Enterprise
and finally
All 10 movies.

I'll see your Star Trek DVD collection and raise you the "Ships of the Line DVD CoverArt Set" http://www.rixgrafix.com/index_015.htm If you own all the Star Trek DVDs you simply must have this Coverart collection. They are so pretty in my DVD cabinet but Firefly is still my number 1.

Question: What was SO good about it (never saw an ep)? I love many a Trek, Dark Angel, New Galactica, Buffy, etc. But NOTHING compares to the almost Shakespear-like quality of Firefly for me (well, maybe Dark Angel...almost....sometimes...).

Curious, derangedmilk, I love 'em both too, but why is Voyager above TNG?

It's Seven, isn't it? Troi is no match for her, right?

I've always been a Trek fan (watched the original series on TV when it was first aired)

my order would be:
Deep Space 9
The Next Generation
The Original Series
Voyager

then hardly being even on the list...with a big gap lowering it much lower (because those are all very well liked above this one)
Enterprise

I enjoyed Babylon 5 a lot the first time I watched it, but less the second time....
I didn't feel any lasting emotional attachment except to one or two characters. So I've never watched it a third time.

Farscape, on the other hand, I liked better the second time...

Battlestar Gallactica seems to be getting better and better....

But the only show I own (and bought more than a dozen sets of to convert friends and family) is:
Firefly
the writing, characters, acting, and general concept speaks to me like no other show ever has

I only own Joss Whedon shows on DVD sets
because I know I'll want to rewatch them many many times
