Yay! Well, Capt'n, it will hopefully be an outdoor wedding, so the vines might be appropriate after all.
Oh! I haven't even STARTED looking for a dress for me! Ack!

*walks into the common room arm and arm with LMD all spiffified and prettly clothed*
So did someone say something about a party?!
Cause we are here now. So it can start.

Waddles? Serenity! Are you with child?

SR approaches Seryn. He takes a bag from his side and pours out some platinum coins and drops them into his pockets. He hands the bag to Seryn.
"This is for your child's education."
Seryn looks into the bag and see's a sparkle, the sort of sparkle that comes from a diamond the size of a grapefruit.
"So what's on your mind, capt'n? I know that I have a lot to share, but it can wait for the moment, so you first."

*looks in the bag* "Whoa.... We were going to go down and say hi to the Captain, *leans over the railings* but she appears to be playing pool..."
She starts skipping blithely down the stairs, pausing every so often, and quickly going over what she had already told JH.
*pokes at the bag* "Which is why I'm not sure I want to accept this from you. I don't expect you to look after me."
She starts immedietly again, leaving no room for argument
"ok, Garrison. We're trading, I assume we'll just land and act like all the other slightly dodgy traders do."
She looks up at them "Its a test to determine the drugs I need, I believe, I may be able to do the testing here and we can just trade what I need from them or a nearby planet *smiles* Another planet would be handy, as I don't think Garrison will have much in the way of wedding silks, and I was thinking of offering to make Serenity her dress. I thought a morning of fabric shopping would be fun, and great cover for the trip to a trader I know of"
"To plan all this though we really need TRM, Soul, Serenity and the guys involved in the Cloud, so, we can call them or we can go greet the Captain, and get some sleep. We have several days apparently."
"I suppose I vote sleep"

Hodgins: Your robot reminds me of you. You tell it to turn it stops. You tell it to stop it turns. You ask it to take out the garbage it watches reruns of Firefly.
FozzieWash, You know what I always say: sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug!
KermieMal, I never Know what the heck you're talking about.
FozzieWash, Hey, look! They're sending us free lumber!

SR takes all this in and makes a spot decision.
"Did I say what I had to discuss could wait? Well I guess I was wrong. Please captain a moment of time, it's important. JH you are more than welcome being we are, well,...old shipmates." He tilts his head to indicate the direction of the brewery, (it appears a quiet enough place for a chat.)
Seryn feels her brow knit and tension build, but SR said "please"
which though he tries to be polite at times, the use of the magic word is a rarity with him so she accepts the detour to the brewery out of almost shear curiousity.
"Captain that rock is not for you, it's for your child. Somehow you seem to think this is about you, it's not. It's about a child that will be given a choice. A choice of many possible futures, not just cabin boy apprentice to a space pirate. We have our life and we do what we must, but it's not the life we would choose for our children, (hypothetically speaking in regards to myself, I have no children for that very reason.) This isn't about you being a woman and me being a man, it's about a gift of the future from a quartermaster to his captain's child. If it makes you feel better you can share it with all the children of the ship. I should warn you they are multiplying faster than your rabbits.
As for conferencing with Citizen, he and I are not on good terms at the moment, best send Jade to make contact with him."
As SR winds down he feels a strang haunting emotion that he hasn't felt in a very long time, shame. He realizes he's ashamed for lying, if even only in part to Seryn.

I thought the belly the size of a small moon gave it away! Yes, Captain, I am in fact, with child . It's a loooong story, but I'll try to tell you the very short version:
It's Soul's fault.
Oh, and he died on my birthday , but he's better now. And we're getting married! So, it all worked out in the end.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I really have to pee.

* TheRealMe sees that nobody else seems to have anything more to add, and so he concludes the Town Meeting. After all, folks are already wandering off and a game of pool has started up. He gestures up at the huge circular three-level Common Room, the pair of balconies encircling the upper levels, and the four major exits evenly spaced around it. *
For you new folk, BeautifulDisaster, Witchy, and anyone else, you may wish to review my Guide to the Sereni-tree, V5, for which there is a link at the top of this thread. But for now, we have four wings coming off the Common Room, the North, East, South, and West Wings. Each Wing has two of its floors that contain ten apartments, making a total of 80 apartments in the Wings. Perhaps a half to two thirds of these apartments are occupied, but if you do not see a nameplate on the door, you may claim it as yours. The kitchen is through those doors between the East Wing entrance and the bar, and there is a dining hall through the doors on the other side of the East Wing entrance. We can work out other details later. Any questions, you may see me or ThatWeirdGirl.
* TheRealMe pulls out his com-link. *
Weirdgirl, Ath, Bride5? I want to make sure that one of us four is standing watch on the Bridge at all times. I don’t want to drop out of hyperspace unexpectedly with nobody driving this thing. We may need some fancy moves if Alliance ships are present. Weirdgirl, compose and post a schedule, please.
* TheRealMe approaches Seryn and Jadehand. *
Well, we really need a plan worked out for purchasing your shuttle components. I’d say that it won’t be terribly long now before we drop out of hyperspace.
* He addresses Ebonezer. *
I’m sorry Captain, but the 8-ball is still missing. I shall endeavor to acquire a replacement on Garrison. Alternatively, there is still a holo-pool table in my quarters that you may use.
* Looks this way and that. *
Where is Washie?

Needy makes his way through the bustling crowd.
He was quite astonished. He had expected there to be a few people on board a ship this size, but nowhere near the amount he seen. The room was packed denser than on "Freebies Day" at the Companion House.
He spotted a few faces he knew - Citizen, Bride6, the young stowaways Ghost and Shadow, but for the most part, they are in the middle of conversations
he dared not interrupt.
Just then, a familiar face stood up and took centre stage. The man that went by the odd name TheRealMe then announced that the town meeting had been concluded.
Typical, Needy thought, As soon as I arrive, everybody wants to leave. It wasn't that he was eager to meet everyone - he found the prospect daunting - but he knew it was something he must do, and now it looked like the perfect chance to meet and greet in a friendly atmosphere may have already past him.
Surprisingly, TRM didn't leave the announcement at that.
Gesturing towards the balconies above him and the exits, he goes on to explain:

Thread? Needy thinks to himself. What thread? What is he....
Just then, he spots a Tevlon History Recorder and Easy Access Drive or T.H.R.E.A.D. in the corner of the room.
The type of device that were usually found in classrooms for teaching also were occasionally used as ship logbooks. It was this the speaker must have been referring to.
The unit was regularly updated and kept track of every passenger and situation the crew ran into. Quite handy I suppose.
After describing the basic layout of the ship and how one would acquire a room to stay in, TheRealMe pulls out his com-link and heads toward a small group, giving them instructions.
Now's my chance Needy realises. He seems to know what's what. Maybe he can explain the situation, and just how he knows me
