I'm gonna have to agree with your list 'cause any other movie I've seen was not even close. You know what movie I'd put in the number one slot, but I can't say it. I've never seen Bowling for Columbine. Also, I'll add the Jurassic Park Trilogy.
Edit: forgot to add, Big Trouble in Little China and The Pricess Bride and Batman Begins(Batman and Batman returns were good, but "Begins" was better.

For me, this is a loaded question, since there are som many favorites for genres and su-genres and stuff like that. I'm just gonna go with what comes off the top of my head.

AMADEUS- This is in my mind, the best fucking movie ever made. This is the movie that perfectly captures the pain and ecstasy of being an artist. It's a great meditation on man's relation to God. It's a period piece that's actually exciting and not boring since it find so many contemporary parallels. It has great music attached to it and it's just so perfect.

BACK TO THE FUTURE III- I know a lot of people think this is the weakest of the BTTF movies, but I don't care. I saw this movie when I was 6, and it was the movie that spearked a lifetime passion for film. It's the movie that made me who I am.

CLERKS- All of Kevin Smith's movies, actually. But this is my absolute fave for obvious reasons.

LAST NIGHT- I'm writing my essay on this movie since it's not only the best end of the world film IMHO, but it's also my favorite Canadian movie. I would so this film to anyone who scoffs at Canadian cinema and wonders what it has to offer.

L.A. CONFIDENTIAL- I always thought "THIS is how you do an action film" whenever I see this flick. This is without a doubt the most balls to the wall, razor sharp, no holds barred action flick. And the reason I say that is that when you watch the action scenes, you feel the punches to your face and the bullets that rip through your gut.

GARDEN STATE- So far, this is my favorite movie of the decade because it perfectly captures my generation. And the final twenty minutes of this film is the most perfect thing you've ever seen.

Anything by Stanley Kubrick- This man is what I call a REAL director. This is a guy who works on a whole other level of consciousness that we can only grasp to understand. Any one of them.

FANTASIA- This is still in my mind the pinnacle of the animated medium. Just one segment alone should be able to convince you.

I got a lot more, but it's late and I wanna go to bed.
